Currenlty, the cadet training handbook is the best tool for training new players into the world of SFB. Has anyone got any additional ships for that could be used with that product?

Andy,
I appreciate that. Have you thought about doing some "full" ships similar to the other "non cadet" ships that are in the Cadet Training Handbook. For example, the "regular" CA in that book is nice, however, for those just using that book, another fed ship might be nice.

Darren - I really haven't. I figure players can pick up the Basic Set and Advanced Missions if they want to play further "big" ships.

I sent Andy a good number of cadet ships a year ago. The SSDs were refined and I tried to keep make some older ones more balanced. I also included some ships not on his website yet; An Andro and an LDR IIRC.

A DD or FF plus a DN for each race would be fun.

SVC: any timeframe on getting this as downloadable thing on the web? I know you are busy, so I was just looking for a general idea as I know several players itching to get access in order to learn how to play.

Not really. It's a complex decision as we want to reprint it.

SVC:
I'd be for a reprint rather than something free as much as I hate to say that. The 9.95 price point is a really good deal anyway. Any chance of some minor updates if it get's reprinted?
New art maybe, one more ship for each race?
I would definitely add the latest catalog in the back of the book along with any other info that would help a new player "know" what's out there.

CADET BOOK ON VASSAL

Les LeBlanc has been granted permission to include the SFB Cadet Training Module/Handbook on Vassal. This does not include "full SFB" just the cadet book, but he is legal. This is ADB's official public statement to that effect.

Thanks for doing this, Lesssss.....

I think I might know a platform that might help reach new players. It's called "Tabletop Simulator", and as the name implies, it replicates playing tabletop games on your computer.

I have seen many people play a lot of games though this, and I think the Cadet Manual will work there as well.

Les, it is okay for you to include the cadet and real SSDs for the 12 ships in the Cadet Book.

I am glad to announce the completion of training for Danny Moldonado, he completed all of the cadet scenarios here at Bureau 51. He has proudly accepted the given rank of ensign, and is ready to play the Basic Set. congratulations Ensign Moldonado
