The value of the cloak is also dependent on the particular ship. Skyhawks for example can cloak for a fairly low cost and still have good power flexibility while using it. The KRs have a fairly high cloak cost so it can be difficult for them to move quickly and/or do a lot of other power hungry things while cloaked.

It has been more than a few years since logged in and if nothing else it is good to know the community is not dead. I don't really disagree with any of you. When I played I most often played as a Romulan and I just found it frustrating the a Sparrow Hawk Light Cruiser and a Federation Heavy Cruiser were about the same in BPV.

Try playing from the other side.
But seriously, I love playing Romulans. But deciding when to use my cloak is incredibly anxiety-inducing. I've seen it played exceptionally well, and I've personally played it poorly. But trust me when I say that it's definitely intimidating to face.

It might be worth noting that there are a number of additional Romulan cruiser classes - such as the GryphonHawk and HKR heavy war cruisers from Star Fleet Battles Module R12, or the "Shadow of the Eagle" Queen War Eagle and Queen Storm Eagle from SFB Module R4J - which now offer a broader range of BPV options for would-be duels or squadron battles.
Further, both R4J and Module C6 offer the potential of new allies - and new enemies - for the "Mapsheet P" Romulans to deal with. On that note: I wonder what Romulan players might think of the prospect of joint operations with the "lost empire" Paravians? Or, once more is known about the changes involved, of Middle Years and General War-era battles against the "Mapsheet P" ISC?

This was inspired by the talk about the BH in other threads. As well as the 500T squadron going on.
Battle force: 2 WEr 206BPV. or 2KE 280BPV.
2BHr 176BPV Total:381 or 456
Note exchange a BH for a WH. The cost is very close.
both BH for a BHE and WH
A BH for a Falcon mauler.
The BPV cost of all of those are very close. That can make a very set of interesting battle groups.
