(MR4.5) Module C5 Maghadim TUG - There is a probe ammunition track but no probe launcher box on the SSD - Dan Bivona, 12 JUN 2015

(MSH3.2) Module C5 - The listing for the Eneen ships shows a CT+. The SSD does not have a plus refit, but the shaded boxes look to be for the YCT. Is the CT+ supposed to be the CTP? - Ken Kazinski, 19 Oct 2018.

Probably bad editing.
The YCT becomes the CT with the plus refit It was probably originally listed as a YCT+, and since that is just a CT, it was edited to remove the "Y" and the "+' was left.

Earlier in the thread, I posted a link to the old Captain's Log #48 discussion thread, where a pair of line items had been posted for the Jumokian ships printed in that volume. Since said thread no longer exists, I should note the following line items, which are to be found in the Captain's Log #49 Supplemental File:
Quote:Page #122: (MR6.A1) Jumokian New Light Cruiser, SSD: Increase boarding parties to 20. Four of these boarding parties are always part of the ship; the other 16 are provided by the two self-defense packs (eight each) as are 12 of the ship’s crew units (six each). If a self-defense pack is replaced with another type of pack, delete the boarding parties and crew units for the self-defense pack and add any crew units or boarding parties for the new pack. This was a mistake on my (Steven Petrick’s) part. I knew something was bugging me about the ship’s design and could not recall what it was and did not think to look at the errata for an earlier ship (the light cruiser) to affect the design of this ship (the new light cruiser). The re-designation of the center hull of the two new frigate hulls that make up the new light cruiser as forward hull in the combined ship is correct. The new destroyer had no armor, so the new light cruiser did not have armor.
Page #122: (MR6.A2) Jumokian Frigate, SSD: Increase boarding parties to 10. Two of these boarding parties are always part of the ship; the other eight are provided by the self-defense pack, as are six of the ship’s crew units. If the self-defense pack is replaced with another type of pack, delete the appropriate boarding parties and crew units for the self-defense pack and add any crew units or boarding parties for the new pack. As above, this was my error. The new destroyer had no armor, so the new frigate did not have armor.

What is the towing cost for Magellanic pods and pallets? Annex 7L only lists the pinnace packs.
Pod/Pack
(MR1.5-MR2) Commando Pack (P-T)
(MR1.4) Repair Pod (P-R)
(MR1.7-MR6) Survey Pack (P-SR)
(MR1.6-MR6) Self-Defense Pack (P-SD)
(MR1.8-MR6) Minelaying Pack (P-ML)
(MR1.5) Commando Pack (P-T)
(MR1.5-MR3) Commando Pack (P-T)
(MR1.5-MR4) Commando Pack (P-T)
(MR1.10) Cargo Pod (Pod-C)
(MR1.11) Repair Pod (Pod-R)
(MR1.5-MR5) Commando Pack (P-T)
(MR1.8) Minelaying Pack (P-ML)
(MR1.7) Survey Pack (P-SR)
(MR1.6) Self-Defense Pack (P-SD)
(MR1.5-MR6) Commando Pack (P-T)

If it helps, Ken, I think that, except for two unit types, the Cargo Pod (MR1.10) and Repair Pod (MR1.11), all of those unit types have the term "Pack" in their description.
On the Tug (MR1.9) SSD, the movement cost of the ship has increments of 0.2500 for each pod, based on 0.5000 for zero pods weights, 0.7500 for one pod weight, 1.2500 for three pod weights.
Annex #7L, as you pointed out, says that "Packs" have a towing movement cost of 0.2000. I believe this applies to all the packs you asked about, save the aforementioned Cargo Pod (MR1.10) and Repair Pod (MR1.11).

Hi Jeff - I have been wrong about making those kind of assumptions in the past, but Annex 7L states Pinnace Packs which is specific as there are a number of Pinnace Packs. I would assume all the packs are the same but...

Ken, given how few people know EVERYthing about the SFU, there's no doubt in my (alleged) mind that anyone critical about any assumptions you've made has made more than a few incorrect ones themselves.

Is the Super Energy Module mentioned in the Magellanic history in Y183 the same as the large energy module mentioned in (G20.23)?
By Steve Petrick (Petrick) on Thursday, January 07, 2021 - 02:25 pm: Edit |
John Christiansen:
No. The super energy module is basically a fictional construct. It has no existence except for penetrating a dense radiation zone and was "invented" to explain the Andromdan conquest of the Maghadim and later an attempt by the Andromedans to invade the WYN Star Cluster. Except for its appearance in those events (which in both cases led to the destruction of the then existing example) it has no game function and is not going to be represented by a game piece and rules.
