Funny, a long time ago I submitted for SFTimes' halloween issue a desperate fed ship. Take a Fed BP and slap on the rear (engine) quarter of a large freighter, and suddenly you have a warp manueverable (albiet slow) Fed BP.

Steve; your Qari YDN looks like an SSD I'm designing for a civie ship. Don't be surprised at the resemblance if SVC ever gives it the okay.

Playing around with a a picture of the
Fed DD and DN I got an idea: remove the bridge portion of the DD and weld the resulting disk (plus engine) to the bottom of the secondary hull of the DN to produce a four engined BB. I haven't done an SSD for the resulting ship yet but I figure on leaving much of the DD intact, just adding it to the DN. I will upload a picture soon though.

What's truely odd is that I've had an SSD of such a ship for months. I started with the DDG scaucer because I didn't want the alternate dreadnought (I added a DDG to a CC) to have 8 Photons as that could cause Shock to be introduced to such a vessel.
I also envisioned a second strut below the engineering hull holding it in pace whose wheioght was so great that a number of DDG SSD boxes had to be removed to make room for.
I'll email it to you so you can see where my thinking is but I'ld like you to keep it a secret as I might one day submit it (plus BMP files are pretty large).

I was thinking of the different possible variant of the my design. The best I came up with was a DAR welded to a DNG. If memory serves, that would give me 8 forward photons, 4 P-G, 14 P-1, and 8 drn-g.

I once scratch built a truly horrid ship, called it the "free enterprize".

Orions find an abandoned Fed CA where the Dish had separated with the crew leaving the lower part to drift in space. They towed it back to their base and welded a Battle Raider to it.

Very evil, very strange looking but a VERY deadly ship.

Yes I know it was silly But I designed this before those mood enhancing drugs were invented.

Yeah (I'm uncertain what the DAR is...which R module?)... but the concept does develop 8 FA Photons and that can be nightmarish. Or fun depending on which side of the photon launchers one is on.

DAR, is the Fed DEA on the Romulan Front.

Take a DEA and replace the bow g racks with Phaser ones IIRC

Okay..thanks...although Ph-Gs on anything other than a carrier escort tend to kill submissions right off the bat. I guess if this battleship had fighters the Ph-Gs might allow it to opperate as it's own escort.

some of you may remember a ship I submitted for SFT#4. I called it the Frankenstein. A WYN junkyard owner built an unstable war ship using parts from Romulans,Klingons,Lyrans,Hydrans,Gorn and a Large Freighter.
Yes, it is called, The WYN Scrap Cruiser.
It bolsters 3 plasma Fs, 4 disruptors, 2 gats, 4 ph-1s, 4 ph-2s, 3 ph-3s, ESGs, Drone racks, 32 warp, 8 apr, 3 impulse, MC=1, unable to HET, breakdown rating 0-6, no bonus. If the ship explodes, it merely breaks apart into its own component pieces.
