Long, long, long ago, there was to be a squadron SSD book, or some other product to that effect.

3 ships all on the same page, as previewed in one of the Captain's Logs.

What happened to that?

SPP started work on it but somethings happend that put a stop to it. IIRC, the Crawford box was part of that. I think it is still pending.

There are question topics that are better for things like this instead of creating a whole topic for it. Unless you are wanting to discuss how to create such a product in a new way?

I really didnt know where else to put it...?

I only ask because I was the person to originally suggest the idea, and was reminded of it when I was looking thru old CLs.

And I know I should know this, but -- what's the Crawford Box?

It is one of too many ideas we could pursue with too little time.

IIRC, it's a box placed on the SSD with commonly-needed Master Ship Chart information.

Also IIRC, the problem isn't adding them to new SSDs but the work of retrofitting them to existing ones. It would take a big chunk of time to do, time that isn't going into new projects.

If most of the time is spent thumbing through modules looking for ships, then having someone else do the boxes doen't help because the ADB would still have to edit the SSD work.

At one point I would have been greatly interested in this; but in most of our recent campaigns, we've adopted the "flexible escort rules" (S8.315), which means any squadron SSDs printed would probably be less than useful.

The squadron SSDs were too crowded and printed in to small of scale (to get three ships on the same page) to be "user friendly" (even worse than the CVA SSDs with all of their fighters with the carrier).

I personally would not use them unless I didn't have a regular SSD of one of the ships (most likely the carrier since if I didn't have the escort, I would replace it with one I did have).
