Hi again.
Based on the thoughts I put into the Eneen Carrier thread, the question then turned to what, if any, kind of efforts that the Baduvai Imperium might put into developing its fleet of PFs, and the means by which they could deploy or service them.
While there was the workboat idea - which, I hope, could still be viable - the issue would also arise as to what the Baduvai navy, seeking to shore up Imperial space, re-claim their systems from holdout Andromedan garrisons, as well as fortify their distant frontiers, and learning of the extensive use of fast patrol ships in the navies of the Alpha Octant (aside from the Federation, that is) could do to make the most out of their still-precarious, yet hopeful, situation.
Right now, the Strike Cruiser is is the only true PFT in print for the Baduvai - although there is mention in the rules of a Baduvai PFT, for which no SSD exists in C5.
I would suggest that there could be room for such a dedicated PFT, converted out of the war cruiser, and possibly additional tenders made out of the war destroyer scout also, somewhat similar to the smaller PFTs shown for the Maesrons and Koligahr in Omega 5.
Alongside this, I would ask for a range of variants of the Outrider PF, such as leaders, scouts and what have you - especially a commando variant, crucial for assisting the Baduvai navy in re-taking worlds still held by Andromedan garrisons, and a survey variant capable of exploring Imperial and Fringe space (as well as places like the Yrol Nebula and former Uthiki-held systems).
Perhaps it might even be worth having the lessons offered by Operation Unity learned, and see a generation of Baduvai PFs with warp booster packs - or, perhaps, a third, central warp pylon, echoing the three-pylon designs seen on the Strike Cruiser and War Cruiser?
With more power from a third nacelle, or a warp booster pack, it might even be feasible to see a variant armed with a CPA in place of the Mass Drivers.
The Baduvai retain their physical inability to fly fighters, and unless they decide to allow mercenary pilots fly from their ships (akin to the Seltorians using Klingon pilots) they won't be able to build a BCS...
...but, on the other hand, if the Jumokians remain on friendly enough terms (and ever develop fighters of their own - perhaps 'borrowing' a few ideas from the Eneen and Maghadim) or a subject race can be found within the Imperium who might be willing to serve in such a role (maybe the surviving indigenes on H'Gar, if any) then a BCS could, in theory, be possible - but that would be a different matter.
But even without such a ship, the Baduvai could still make plenty of use of more tenders - and better and more varied flotillas to use them with.

To clarify, I made a slight mistake - there is a DWP for the Imperium, though there might be use for a CW-based PFT, or alternatively a refit for the CS giving it the same kind of repair facility that a 'true' PFT has.
