So who wants to be the first to ask for a Drex TC? Oh man, i just did!
By Barry Kirk (Barrykirk) on Monday, May 19, 2008 - 06:48 pm: Edit |
Paul,
Thank you creating this thread.
Chad... I'm working on the Maghadim now... Should be finished by sometime this weekend.
I'll work on the Drex after that...
What are the colors for the Drex counters?
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Monday, May 19, 2008 - 10:54 pm: Edit |
Ok. I just did something I know that I am going to regret later. But I added support for using ships in the library to the Tournament room. So instead of adding these to the normal library they will be in the Tournament library.
So with the update of the client to be released this week you will be able to use the ships listed in the Tournament library.
By Barry Kirk (Barrykirk) on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 - 06:29 pm: Edit |
Maghadim is now complete....
Drex is about 50% complete... should be done by the weekend.
Paul, Thank you for allowing tourney ships in library to be used in tourney rooms.
Hope you don't end up regretting it.

What are the colors for all the Omega race counters? Or where would I find them?
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 - 08:29 pm: Edit |
Barry,
Here is the thing, with adding the feature I introduce two things:
1) The possibility of the players have two different versions of the library ships. Might need to add a version number to the ships definitions.
2) The possibility of one person having the ship and another person not.
Both of the above are possible with including the definitions inside the client. But it is easier to see and the client does not get updated as often. So less likely to happen.
By Barry Kirk (Barrykirk) on Thursday, May 22, 2008 - 05:44 pm: Edit |
Paul,
I agree that version control is an issue. There is some cleanup stuff that i'd like to do on some of the TCC that have already beeen submitted.
Is it possible for you to e-mail me a copy of the .def file for the Fed TCC that I can use as a reference?
I suspect that some of the fields for the Tourney ships are different than the fields for the ships in the regular library.
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Friday, May 23, 2008 - 03:23 pm: Edit |
Barry,
I will Email you the values. I really can't mail the defs because they were created in a different manner. (i.e. the SFB Ship Definition can not be used to modify it)
By Barry Kirk (Barrykirk) on Friday, May 23, 2008 - 08:36 pm: Edit |
People have been having trouble getting the new tourney ships running.
I think I have a temporary fix.
The library is downloading these new ships into a folder SFBTourn.
However, the client is still looking for those ships in the folder SFB.
So, the those new ships need to be copied from the ...library/SFBTourn folder into the ...library/SFB folder.
They should work at that point...
But be careful not to overwrite anything in the SFB folder.
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Friday, May 23, 2008 - 10:35 pm: Edit |
That will work to get them available in the normal SFB room.

Probr Tourney ship is completed and e-mailed to Paul....
By Barry Kirk (Barrykirk) on Sunday, May 25, 2008 - 11:13 am: Edit |
Does anybody know the color scheme of the Probr counters?
As for the next ship to work on...
I've completed the following...
1) Chlorophon
2) Drex
3) Koligahr
4) Maesron
5) Maghadim
6) Probr
7) Trobrin
2 plasma ships, 2 drone ships, and 3 direct fire ships...
6 are Omega and 1 is the LMC....
I'm thinking of working on the Baduvai next. But, let me know if anybody has a special request.
By Ken Burnside (Ken_Burnside) on Sunday, May 25, 2008 - 07:20 pm: Edit |
I'd like to see the Baduvai and Eneen next.
By Barry Kirk (Barrykirk) on Sunday, May 25, 2008 - 08:29 pm: Edit |
Ken...
Baduvai is next on the list...
Do you have the color codes?
Figured out the reason that the POT, POS, and shuttles didn't work...
The .gif files for them and the TCC.gif files need to be copied also...
These are just bandaid solutions until the client is changed to look at the correct directory.
The POS, POT, and shuttle .gif files for some of the ships are in pretty sorry shape... I'll go back for all of races i've made and make appropriate POS, POT, and shuttle files for them...
By Barry Kirk (Barrykirk) on Sunday, May 25, 2008 - 10:30 pm: Edit |
These are issues with the client not just the tourney ships....
1) Mass driver launchers, Tachyon Missiles aren't in the expendables list.
2) Implosion Torps don't work.
3) Tachyon Guns should be allowed to show their power level when firing. the Mode pulldown needs to be implemented.
4) AntiMatter Cloud Generators don't work.
5) Probr directory is misspeeled.
6) HEAT torps show up as drones not plasma.
I'm sure there are more... will add as I find them.

@ All working on this: I've been an Omega fan for years and it's nice to see some folks finally take initiative to get these (along with the Mags) up and running. Your hard work is certainly appreciated!

Just FYI Barry I updated the Omega charts in the latest client update (Board->Charts->Omega Weapon Charts) ... if you notice anything missing or wrong let me know and I can fix ... I don't have the Omega SSD's (or O5) so did it all based off the Omega MRB.
By Barry Kirk (Barrykirk) on Saturday, May 31, 2008 - 05:23 pm: Edit |
I've been working on the Omega charts... and I'm about halfway completed...
There are a couple of typo's that I've noticed.
Paul, if you could e-mail me the LMC charts text. I'll compare those to the C5 manual, and send any corrections to you...
By Peter Thoenen (Eol) on Saturday, May 31, 2008 - 05:45 pm: Edit |
Barry: Just FYI they are in SFB Online Client\plugins\SFB.jar ... jar's are nothing more than zip's really so just extract it via your favorite unarchiving application (e.g. winrar)
Once extracted its data\sfbol\lmc_weapons.chart

thank you

Updated and hopefully fixed Omega and LMC weapons charts have been e-mailed to Paul to incorporate into the client.

Started my first Omega Playtest game last night...
I took a Koligahr TCC versus Swamplor on the D7TCC
Looking good...
This is more of a playtest report of game in progress which is a good thing.
Turn 1, Steve overloaded disruptors and closed to range 8. Overload range for the Antimatter Cannon is 6.
He fired his alpha strike at range 8 and turned off doing 28 points on my #1.
I had overloaded 3 of my Antimatter cannons. and closed to within 7 hexes by impulse 32.
Near the end of the turn, He fired 2 drones at me.
Turn 2, I held the 3 overloads, overloaded the 4th antimatter cannons and poured on the antimatter at the beginning of the turn. Ran Steve into the edge of the map. I dispatched the 2 drones with microphaser 3 shots. AK on a type I drone at range 1.
At range 6 I unloaded 3 overloaded antimatter cannons and 6 microphaser 1s on his #5 shield.
All 3 Antimatter cannons hit but only 1 MP 1 hit. Doing 40 points of damage.
Also, he fired 2 more fast drones which I forget to ID. I tractored 1 at range 2 and dragged it on top of the other drone. Then I fired an Antimatter Cloud at the drones which hit destroying them both.
I then turned bringing my 2 remaining MP1s and Antimatter cannon to bear on his down shield at range 6. The Antimatter Cannon hit and both MP1s missed.
So the Antimatter Cannons all hit and 7 out of 8 MP1s missed.
The DAC rolls were weird and I took out 2 dizzys and lots of power.
We both slowed down.. Steve went to speed 15 and I went to speed 16. At range 4 Steve fired another alpha strike at my #2 shield taking it down and doing a couple of internals including one of the ACG.
I managed to turn back towards the bottom of the board and we passed each other at range 3.
Steve turned back towards me and accelerated and by the end of the turn we are at range 6 or so with my rear shield facing Steve.
Steve fired all his phasers last turn.
My remaining Antimatter Cloud Generator is fully charged and ready. The Antimatter Cannons are all empty and will have satisfied the 32 impulse delay before the middle of turn 3. All of my MicroPhasers were fired last turn.
Not sure when we will continue the game, but so far it's looking good. Sort of similar to the way things would have worked with Klingon versus Fed.
