When flicking through the Omega 4 rulebook, I noted how the Bolosco (an amoeba-like race of beings from the M81 galaxy - yes, that M81!) travelled across different parts of the universe, including the group which went to the Omega Octant.

They travelled in "several great Guildships the size of dreadnoughts", aboard which were kept various supplies, records, artifacts... oh, and a whole load of frozen Bolosco, waiting to be thawed out and set to work!

Unfortunately, many of these ships were lost in the crossing of the Milky Way's energy barrier - yet some survived, and served as the launch pad for the first colonies set up in the Milky Way.


Yet, unlike a certain other species from M81 which used massive factory ships to reach the Milky Way (and elsewhere), no SSDs currently exist in print for the great Bolosco Guildships - the only SC2 vessel they currently possess is a Mercenary Dreadnought built in this galaxy, not built until Y180, and designed more for combating the Zosman Marauders than for voyaging to other galaxies.


I would like to see an SSD done up for a Guildship - not least because aside from the Bolosco ships which arrived in Omega, there are other groups of Bolosco out there in the wider universe, and they would be travelling in the same kind of vessels, and perhaps even setting up their own trading empires, using a mix of native and traded tech to get up and running.


(Thus, it would be worth investigating whether the Bolosco had some other weapon in place of phasers on their ships, mounted more of their tractor-based weapons in what would eventually be phaser mounts, or simply had nothing in those mounts at all - well, except for more cargo space, I guess.)


This ship would be a window into the Omega-Bolosco's history - and a catalyst through which the outgoing blobs can wind their way into other corners of the Star Fleet Universe.
