Hey.
According to (OR14.M15) the existing gunboat module for the Iridani was only capable of being mounted on a Brigantine hull - as seen in (OR14.11), the Brigantine-C Space Control Ship.
The mounting of the mech links on the module meant that none of the other ships could be set up to take the module as-is.
However, what if the Iridani, looking to make a SDS out of the Man-O-War, decided to try and split the mech links required to field a flotilla between two separate modules?
A Man-O-War BB can take 4 modules, and in a SDS rule would have two carrier modules, and room for two more.
So, perhaps a new module which had two mech links, two repair boxes, and the remainder of the boxes taken from the shield module (so that the boost to the ships; shielding is one-half that o the regular shield module) could be created?
This module could then be used in tandem in a Man-O-War, along with two carrier modules, to make an Iridani SDS.
Also, smaller hull types, like the Galleon, could take two such modules and become PF tenders - and squadrons of smaller ships, such as Caravels, Barques and so forth could have at least two ships each mounting this module, and the 4 PFs either fielded as a single squadron, or used casually.
Would that be feasible, or does the engineering issue preventing the current PF module from wider use apply to a module mounting only two mech links, as opposed to 4?
