Please note that all links to ships have been taken down pending publication. When Jeremy has time to work on the Borak Star League ships and send them in, then the publication date will be set. -- Jean, WebMom

For those who have been around the BBS for a while, you may remember the Borak, a race I was playing around with back in 2001. I had lost most of the SSDs for the Borak in a series of computer crashes, and other projects combined with real life took me away from them until now (Spring 2009).

I've posted an updated website here with some of the existing ship designs. More will follow. The most significiant update is some revision to the fighter rules, which had originally used slightly different rules than the remote control fighter rules in J2. I've also added some ship images as well, so now the ships are more than black and white outlines.

For those who haven't seen the Borak before, I'll say this in advance...
These guys are unconventional. They are an all-phaser race, relying on megaphasers and a weapon called the phaser cannon, sort of Ph-2 Gatling. The ships are extremely light, and have limited power (an offset to the efficiency of phasers). Their fighters are likewise unconventional, serving the dual purpose of attrition unit and seeking weapon. All phaser ships can be very powerful, so a lot of effort has gone into keeping these guys in the box. They are harder to fly than they look.

I don't really consider the Borak to be a serious proposal. They are yet another alpha sector race, and they would interfere with the established history in SFB. Maybe if SSJ gets kick started again, they might find a home. But I wanted to share them, and figured this would be the best place.

Still lots of work to do on them before they get as mature as a race like Jessica Orsini's Peladine. As I get to new adds, I'll post a note here. The plan is to add something every weekend for the foreseeable future.

Comments are welcome, but playtesters are golden. If you're interested in playing the Borak on SFBOL, contact me at the address in my profile.

Everything in this topic was before the Borak got published. Can we delete all these posts?
