So I guess we are waiting for Steve and Jonb to finish their game.

I haven't heard anything on the Roger/Hood game.

Orbis seems to have dropped off the face of the earth.

Hopefully, a Top 8 tree will be up tonight.

OK based on points then.

Colorado: 25 points
Watchmans: 25 points
New Jersey: 21 or 23 depending on last game.
Philly: 21 points
Car Acrobatic: 19 points
Deathtongue: 18 to 21 points depending on if last game is played.
Geezer: 15 points
SWA: 15 points
Austrialia: 12 possibly 15 points depending on last game.

So, I stand corrected... It is possible that 3 teams could be tied with 15 points...

By Stephen McCann (Moose) on Sunday, May 24, 2009 - 02:55 pm: Edit

You are leaving out Team Beta, which will have 17-19 points, depending on whether Jon Biggar beats me in the last game or not. In any event they are already ahead of all of the 15 point teams.

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Sunday, May 24, 2009 - 03:42 pm: Edit

Or, we could all wait for the judge to total the points when the games are done :-)

/whine {But we want them now} /endwhine :)

That would be intereesting... 3 teams tied for the 8th slot...

Right. So in an executive decision based on a virtually impossible adjudication (starting turn 10, one ship has 8 internals and 3 messed up shields; the other has 13 and 1 messed up shield), Steve and Jon get a draw, for 2 points each.

I haven't heard from Roger or Jason, so that game counts as nothing for either.

Orbis counts as a no show.

Going to make the tree now.

By Carl-Magnus Carlsson (Hardcore) on Sunday, May 24, 2009 - 07:14 pm: Edit

I wanted a reason to say Feds suck, so I compiled this chart:)

Ships ship# Wins Losses Games left to play no shows
Fed 4 2 9 1
Klink 4 8 3 1
TFH 2 1 3 (one draw) 1
TKR 1 1 2
Kzin 4 7 2(one draw) 2
Gorn 2 3 3
ATCs 3 7 2
Orions 2 3 2 1
Hydrans 2 4 2
Andros 1 1 2
Lyrans 3 6 2 1
Wyn Aux 5 5 8 2
Shark 2 1 2 3
ISC 3 5 4
LDR 1 0 3

Note: No shows signify a game that was not played. Call it void or whatever. The ship or its opponent never played. It does not count as either win or loss in the list.
[To the best of my ability late at nigh.]

So after compiling Strength of Opponents to break 3 different ties, the rankings are:

1. Team Watchmans: 25 (9-18)
2. Team Colorado: 25 (7-20)
3. Team New Jersey: 22
4. Team Philly: 21
5. Team C.A.T.: 19
6: Team Death Tongue: 18 (9-18)
7: Team Beta: 18 (13.5-13.5)
8: Team SWA: 15 (18-9)

9: Team Geezer Patrol: 15 (15-12)
10: Team Yellow Alert: 14
11: Team Alpha: 13
12: Team Australia: 12
13: Team Gama: 7

So those are the top 8. I'll post match up grids tonight. Let's say we finish this next round in 3 weeks, so try and get your game played by Sunday, June 11. I'll post that elsewhere.

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Sunday, May 24, 2009 - 07:32 pm: Edit

As I'm setting up the matches, the brackets are:

A) Watchmans vs SWA
B) New Jersey vs Death Tongue

C) Philly vs C.A.T.
D) Colorado vs Beta

Damnation, so close. NVM, we'll be back next year and with a cooler name!
"Team Geezer" is dead, but watch out for the "Swedish Bikini Team"!

Carl,

You do realize that if you had made it in, you would've gotten a chance to play team Watchmans.

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Sunday, May 24, 2009 - 08:05 pm: Edit

Quarter Final brackets are up. Everyone plays a single game against a single opponent. I figure 3 weeks should be good, so please get your Quarter Final game done by Sunday, June 14th (now that I'm looking at an actual June calendar).

Barry, with a name like that they need be taken down a peg or two!:)

By Barry Kirk (Barrykirk) on Sunday, May 24, 2009 - 08:24 pm: Edit

We should get our chance in the finals..

By David Cheng (Davec) on Sunday, May 24, 2009 - 10:13 pm: Edit

Ack!
I have to play my Arch Cubed Nemesis again... It's rigged!

Team SWA is happy for the opportunity to compete. We are probably going to have a practice day next Sunday, the 31st, so will avoid scheduling matches until after then.

Last time we played online, you whacked me :-)

Yeah, I rolled some dice and said "doh". Oh well.

It's the law of averages. What's my lifetime record against you, something like 3-109?

Romwe ( Andy +2 AWR ) vs BaldnForty ( Zin )

Game is scheduled for Thursday May 28th at 7:00PM EST.

By Barry Kirk (Barrykirk) on Monday, May 25, 2009 - 02:17 pm: Edit

I know this is self serving... but,

Brian just played 3 games with Andromedan +2APR playtest ship.

I would very much like to read those reports...

Especially before playing him in my upcoming WL game Thursday...

By Brian Evans (Romwe) on Monday, May 25, 2009 - 09:02 pm: Edit

Not a chance!

I actually only played 2 games, one was conceded by my opponenet due to RL scheduling difficulties.

By Barry Kirk (Barrykirk) on Monday, May 25, 2009 - 09:17 pm: Edit

Aha, well I understand than..

By Chris Proper (Duke) on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 - 06:35 pm: Edit

Barry- Brian's game against me was decided by a breakdown on his second het. Good luck.
