Quote:Basically I'm talking about X-rules ships that don't have too much warp and too many phasers. It doesn't have to be exact box-for-box match but yes, I would like to see some ships mount non-P1 on X tech.
Quote:Tell me why an empire would spend close to the same resources on an X-Lite ship instead of a Full-X ship. Make that answer relevant to the ISC Pacification Program or the Andro War. What does a D5X-Lite give us that we'd want to spend part of the limited X-resources on it?

Maybe this belongs in X1R, but I think a DX with D5X engines and waist-wing phasers all being X1phaser-2s ould be good at fighting the ISC whilst a vessel with half the Wing and half the waist phasers being removed would be good for fighting the Andro...on a budget.

Tos,
The key to answering your question is asking what a stategic speed of 7 gives us that a speed of 6 doesn't.
Sure an X-Lite ship could keep pace with a full-on X-ship under all circumstances. This is only of value if you expect to be routinely exceeding a strategic speed of 6. If you aren't, then a D5 light cruiser with a solid XP refit would do much the same thing at a reduced cost.

SVC, or SPP,
Would you consider allowing PFs and fighters to use Type-IX drones carried in racks, on rails or in MW drones and stingray drones? Type-VI and Type-IX drones as warp seeker are self-guiding. The Type-IX drone is using its own guidance system so no X refit is needed for a fighter or PF.
XP refit with GX racks is already in the draft rules. X rules already state only X-schuttle-scatter packs can use X-drones.
Doesn't the Type-IX drones would use the same targeting rules for warp seekers and MW drones [(FD8.22) operations referrs back to targeting and operation rules (FD7.3)].

Gary,
I used X-shuttle as a term for any type of shuttle. There could be other types X-shuttles released in future modules. Conjectural example: an E2 SWAC is a highly modified MRS (R2.F3); a highly modified X-MRS would becomes an X-E2 SWAC (the SWAC functions stay the same, it just can control X-drones [my opinion]).

And I was indicating that more than an X-Shuttle scatterpack could use X-drones.

That decision can be made by SPP, although I don't doubt that he'll run it by me first.

SVC,
Thanks for responding. I will wait for SPP to post a response.

Tos: sift this file for anything usable and copy it into the new X1R file. Feel free to recruit help. I don't expect to have the luxury of doing so.
