EW Module for Bases

Some of the smaller bases are very limited in the amount of EW support they can provide, because they have very few special sensors. This proposal would be for module containing an additional special sensor, and some power. The extra power would not be enough to use the special sensor to full capability, but it would partially alleviate the extra power requirements. I've been thinking along the lines of 1 special sensor, 3 APR, and 3 hull for the module. The EW module would use the same docking positions as fighter modules, PF modules, and power modules. Small bases (BS and BATS) have 3 such positions, if I recall correctly, and the SSDs often show 2 fighter modules and a PF module. A base with an EW module would have better EW capabilities but fewer attrition units. It would be legal for a base to include a power module as well as an EW module, but then it could only have one module for attrition units. Still, a BATS with EW module, PAM, and PF module could be the nucleus of a formidable defense.

An interesting idea Alan; but would 1 Special Sensor, 2 APR 2 Lab and 2 Hull, be a better fit? This would make it some sort of a blended science and early warning module.

I cannot support this because it is too close to a "weapons module" for bases. If you can mount a special sensor, why not a drone rack? The special sensor is a slippery slope item, and I would rather not start greasing the slope, thank you.
