So far, here are the teams I have full information from (i.e. player name, player e-mail, SFBOL handle, ship choice):

-Team Iron Mans Three (Peter, Chris, Andy K)

-Team ADB (Clay, Jon, Bill)

-Orion Bikini Team (Ron, Dave Z, Ken)

-Team Three Wild and Crazy Guys (Mike, Paul F, Barry)

-Team FYPSWWTW (Paul S, Brian, Steve; someone wanna explain that name?)

I have two other teams committed to play, but not all information yet:

-Team Three Stooges (Andy V, Lynn, Majead)

-Team SWA (Dave C, John, William)

Anyone else I'm missing?

Team Illionois-something (not final name): Matthew "Harry" Potter, Josh, Kerry

Ah, yeah, I knew that :-)

Team In

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Sunday, May 05, 2013 - 01:49 pm: Edit

So we are currently holding strong at 8 teams, which is amazingly convenient, as it allows us to have two pools of 4 teams each, where each player on each team plays against one player from each other team like:

A1 vs B1
A2 vs B2
A3 vs B3

A1 vs C1
A2 vs C2
A3 vs C3

A1 vs D1
A2 vs D2
A3 vs D3

Which works perfectly. In which case, I'll randomly assign teams to pools, and randomly assign players to positions in their team tree, and just pair folks up like this.

I'm inclined to try and avoid civil war matches where I can by swapping folks as appropriate. Anyone opposed to this?

Doesn't matter to me one way or another :)

By Matthew Potter (Neonpico) on Sunday, May 05, 2013 - 05:07 pm: Edit

It doesn't matter to me, either way.

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Sunday, May 05, 2013 - 05:11 pm: Edit

Peter,
I would prefer that, because I really don't like the play civil wars. :-)

By Majead Farsi (Devil) on Sunday, May 05, 2013 - 06:14 pm: Edit

Yep civil wars are not my liking!

By Paul Scott (The_Rock) on Sunday, May 05, 2013 - 07:09 pm: Edit

I am good either way. I have no issue at all with civil wars.

By Andrew J. Koch (Droid) on Monday, May 06, 2013 - 07:11 am: Edit

I thoroughly enjoy civil wars and would like to play as many as possible, but I don't want to be a pain, so I am good either way.

By Chris Proper (Duke) on Monday, May 06, 2013 - 07:03 pm: Edit

Little benefit would derive from a frax civil war. Just sayin.

By Lynn Hunsaker (Maxspeed) on Tuesday, May 07, 2013 - 12:06 pm: Edit

I dont like to play civil wars but it happens. So I play them.

By Ken Rotar (Sir_Krotar) on Tuesday, May 07, 2013 - 02:45 pm: Edit

I just returned to SFBOL after a four year break. It might take a few games for me to knock the rust off, but I would be open to playing in WL if a team wants me.

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Tuesday, May 07, 2013 - 05:19 pm: Edit

So Ken here would like to play--if we can find 2 more people, we can get a 9th team, which I'll certainly make work. If someone who is already on a team needs to bow out, Ken will take that slot as well.

Any takers?

By Andrew J. Koch (Droid) on Tuesday, May 07, 2013 - 07:25 pm: Edit

I would love to have Ken on our team except I would be the one kicked off.

Failing a 9th team, I propose that he can be a fill in, which we need every. single. year. In fact we could use another one or two in my opinion. That way we don't have the dreaded two man team trying to soldier on vs three man teams

Are you really gonna close the signups in a week and a half? I can understand you being busy and such, but we've been taking signups for almost a month now. Can you manage to get the ladder up soonish?

By Ken Rotar (Sir_Krotar) on Tuesday, May 07, 2013 - 11:10 pm: Edit

I'm fine with being a fill-in if we can't get a ninth team. (Andy, dropping you for me would probably be a downgrade!)

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Wednesday, May 08, 2013 - 07:33 am: Edit

>>Are you really gonna close the signups in a week and a half?>>

Yes?

>> I can understand you being busy and such, but we've been taking signups for almost a month now.>>

I put up the announcement on the 14th of April. I said I close them on the 18th of May, that being a month, give or take.

>> Can you manage to get the ladder up soonish?>>

I could? But I'm not going to? As I said I'd put them up the weekend of the 18th?

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Wednesday, May 08, 2013 - 07:34 am: Edit

Currently, Ken is a fill in extra (expect to get called up, as as Andy points out, we always need someone to get called up). If we can get a couple extra guys to make a 9th team, that can work too. Anyone?

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Friday, May 10, 2013 - 04:46 pm: Edit

So Brett Johnson sent me an e-mail indicating interest in World League. With Ken Rotar, that is two people. If we can find one more guy, that is another team. Anyone have any ideas for an additional teammate for these guys?

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Friday, May 10, 2013 - 10:30 pm: Edit

I might be able to get Pimp Daddy Sackett for a 3rd!

By Josh Driscol (Gfb) on Saturday, May 11, 2013 - 12:30 pm: Edit

I've heard a rumor that Spartan and V_Raptor are forming a team and are recruiting a 3rd, I reminded Dan of the deadline. Hopefully they will get in touch with Peter soon.

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Saturday, May 11, 2013 - 12:55 pm: Edit

Ah, see, that'd be handy; and if we get Ken Rotar, Brett, and Sackett as another team, that'd be 10.

By Ken Rotar (Sir_Krotar) on Saturday, May 11, 2013 - 02:46 pm: Edit

I'm game if Brett and Sackett are.
