Roy is home now. They said all he needs is a Brain Transplant.
By Matthew Potter (Neonpico) on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 - 03:48 pm: Edit |
Is that a Brain transplant into his 20yr old clone body?

Nice fall day, no rain (at least around DC). Looks good so far (other than the no income thing).
By Charles "Lucky" Coleman (Mwmiyd) on Wednesday, October 02, 2013 - 05:55 pm: Edit |
Yea, it might be John.. then again, when are they stopping my retirement check? The 15th?
Lucky
-Really is retired.. and still working .. will probably always be working
By John Stiff (Tarkin22180) on Thursday, October 03, 2013 - 11:20 am: Edit |
I'll get a full pay check Friday. But the next one will be a bit lacking.
So I should of been saving for a "sunny day" not a "rainy" one? Go figure!
John
By Howard Bampton (Bampton) on Thursday, October 03, 2013 - 03:16 pm: Edit |
Well, no, not really. You should be saving for tomorrow. The climatic conditions are immaterial. [No "WHANG" today, thank you Jean.]

Six weeks ago a Robin asked "why is it so cold"?
Polar Vortex - it is winter.
Three weeks ago a Robin asked "where are the worms?"
Polar Vortex - the ground is still frozen.
One week ago a daffodil asked me "is it safe to bloom yet?"
Polar Vortex - not yet, but tonight's snow will protect you.
The IPCC said it is global warming.
Polar Vortex - No comment, Jean would make us move the conversation.
Not even a hint?
Polar Vortex - ok, Maunder Minimum.
Am I living in Texas today? It was 70 yesterday and 22 this morning.
Polar Vortex - I am still here!
Will you go back north by the 21st of March?
Polar Vortex - Yes. See you next winter!
Whew! I was beginning think winter will last until summer.
Polar Vortex - SMILE.

I say PV's visa should be revoked.
As well as its Master Card.

We sure didn't see it here in Oregon. We had one snow storm this winter. Most of the time we have 3 or 4, plus various icy weather.
This year? Nada.
So it'll be a dry summer. Every 7 to 10 years, California has a dry year and they start eyeing our water supplies. Good luck to them! I betcha wish you hadn't built in a desert...
By John Stiff (Tarkin22180) on Friday, March 14, 2014 - 10:32 pm: Edit |
El Nino perhaps? That is generally every 11 years.
This year the jet stream was unusually high for the west and unusually low for the east. The Polar Vortex took the path of least resistance i.e the deep south and east coast.
My time in California was dry. Yes we would get the down pour and mud slides when it did rain, but it was mostly dry.
Having lived in New Mexico, I know about the desert. The Rio Grande could be hopped across most of the year. Only when the farmers got their water (i.e. the dam's would let the water flow) would the Rio Grande look like a real river.
I remember (a long time ago) that the California water rights regarding the Colorado river was a big deal. The other states that bordered the river were experiencing a severe drought, meaning that there was not enough water for everyone. California insisted on their share in lieu of everyone rationing. It went to the Federal Courts.
So yeah, they will eye Oregon's water. They will argue that you have plenty to spare and should share.
Uh, I hear that there is snow in the forcast for Sunday night Monday morning where I live in Virginia. The Polar Vortex is hanging around.

No PV here.............just a few more snowdays than usual. We average about 8 major snowfall a season, working on #11 right now, gonah make for a wet spring when it comes. Colder than usual also......comes with the territory.
By John Stiff (Tarkin22180) on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 - 07:37 pm: Edit |
Well Polar Vortex - amazing, you gave me 8 inches of snow for March 16th and 17th! And I hear you may not be done. The weather man said to stay tuned for this coming Tuesday.
