Yes, I have them. For the record, I've been doing the ISC, Vudar, Neo-Tholians (IIRC, Frank has the Archeo-Tholians cornered), Jindarians, and the General Units. Oh, and the C6 Paravians (but they don't count)

I've notice a couple of ships from the SFT and SSJ series.

Do we make these ships or not ?
Not sure if they are sanctioned ships or not ?

The SFTs and SSJs do have 2G in the system.
Thing is, they are not in G3 so we cannot verify them.

I will hold off on making these until authorized to do so.

They are in the system but not in the system?

If there are 2Gs then they need to be upgraded to 3G. Other than "do PFs and fighters and civilian targets last" you can replace any 2G with a 3G.

I think he is saying that the SSDs exist in SFBOL as 2nd generation SSDs but that the ships are not listed in Module G3 so he can't verify some of the data. I think he is not sure if SFT and SSJ ships are allowed to be in SFBOL. Sanctioned as far as I know, applies only to Tournament ships, so not sure what he means there, maybe he means playtest? As far as I know SFT, SSJ, Starletter, and Captain's Log ships are all playtest with CL ships being less so. The only officially "published" ships are in modules (even if conjectural)

Shawn is correct.
There are SFTs and SSJs ship in the SFBOL library.
These ships however are not listed in Module G3 so I cannot verify their TM, MC, Bpv etc.

Are these ships sanctioned ?
I've seen a CA with 45 warp, 6 heavy weapons, loads of phasers all with super sweet firing arcs that will knock the stuffing out of any DN listed in the R modules !
These CAs also have shields equal to or greater then any R Module DNs !

Shall I go ahead and make these ships up ?

Man, I hate to add to this, but the Firehawk-T is in R9, but isn't in my G3. I gather that as it is in Module R9 that it is official, but as I couldn't verify certain data, not having R9 currently, I just 'winged' it.

The Firehawk-Z I treated the same, even though I understand it only appears in an issue of SFT?

There are lots of fanciful old (2G) ship definitions in the non-Tournament files in the client. How ever I'm only working on the definition files given to me by Paul F. This is the first I've had this happen.

I think I am starting to see the issue.

The term "sanctioned" properly applies only to the tournament. I don't think there is actually a term for "it is a real ship and you don't have to ask your opponent's permission to use it." Let's call it Quinzel.

As for "are the SFT ships Quinzels?" it depends on the ship. Some are, some aren't, there is not specific rule. For that matter, some of the CapLog ships that are in G3 are ships that we are less certain are Quinzels than others.

Sorry, but there is no rule to define Quinzel other than "ask Petrick if he's happy with the ship as it is." Even then, happy today is not guaranteed to be happy the next time somebody points out to Petrick that there may be an issue.

I would say that if the ship is in 2G (but not G3) then there could be a philosophical argument that it should not have been but it either needs to be replaced with 3G or deleted.

As for verifying the data with G3, you do know that G3 just copies the data from the SSD, right? So if it were in G3, the data would be the same.

There are a bunch of us doing 3G conversions so which ever ship has the issue will get fixed by the person who built it.

I haven't seen any new 3G conversions in weeks.

Those need to happen. There is a deadline for all 2Gs to go away replaced or not. (They never should have been there and the Board wanted them all deleted at the end of 2013. We're at the end of the third extension to that deadline and it won't go on much longer.) Show me some good faith that progress is being made. We need to see a dozen or two 2Gs replaced/deleted every single week. Then you can have some more time (but months, not years.)

[NOTE: Tournament 2Gs can stay forever. 2G versions of fighters, shuttles, bombers, non-alphas, early years, and civilian freighters can be done later. So "all" excludes those things. Of course, no 2Gs will be uploaded ever again and none should have been in the last two years.]

If anyone is waiting on art from me, I don't know about it (or lost track of it) so ask again.

We aren't going to redebate this matter. That time is past. I need to see 2Gs disappearing, not discussion of why that has to happen.

I'm still here but RL is having its way with me combined with my computer crashing a while ago.
Computer is fixed but RL will keep me busy till Aug, maybe Sept.

I will continue to pluck away at making the Gorns ships but it will be a slow process for the time being.
