Thanks, all. Sorry I haven't responded earlier, but I've been working on a variety of things, one of which is this Campaign, and haven't been back on the Bulletin Board for a while. I have been "lumbered" with the resident Arachnids. Lovely creatures. Especially our Down Under lovely, the Funnelweb. Makes Shelob look like a Beauty Queen. My alter-ego is actually feline, but the Vari are OK and I also have a soft spot for the Trobrin, FRA, Maesron and Peladine. Not to mention most other Alpha Races.

Ah,yes. The good old Funnelweb, genus Atrax Robustus. Must admit it's a lot more aggressive than I usually am (lol) but it does look like what a Vari should be, given all their Bad Press in the Omega Modules. Mine are trying to become Vegetarians. And yes, JS, the Peladine do use Drones and Plasma. And they have Drone, PL-F and PL-D armed Fighters. Also gives you a lot of EW options - see my Battleforce article in CL#50. Unfortunately for them the Lyrans descended on them before they fully developed their Fleet, so they are mainly a part of the Lyran Simulators.

I know I'm far from the first person to make this comment - but just what is it with Australia and venomous critters? Atrax Robustus, the Hadronyche, the redback spider, the brown snake, the tiger snake, the Taipan, the box jellyfish, the blue-ringed octopus, the... we could be here all day just listing them.

Australia even has a venomous MAMMAL!!!???

So, a carnivorous vegetarian?

The USA has its share of venomous critters. Four poisonous snakes (Rattle Snake, Cotton Mouth, Copper Head, and Coral Snake). I remember two poisonous spiders (Black Widow and the Brown Recluse). We have a Gila Monster (a poisonous lizard).

I have read the CL#50 Battleforce article. Did you and Mathew Potter (Paravian) play out the scenario?

Yes. We do have our share of nasties Down Under, and don't forget the friendly old Saltwater Crocodile, not to mention a number of Sharks, starting with the Great White.

I was curious regarding the Battleforce.

Your "crocs" are huge. We have Alligators (Gulf Coast). And we do have Great Whites. There have been a half dozen shark attacks off of our east coast so far this summer.

You will find that things have changed. The Qixa are no longer NPC. They are an ISC ally. Your Admiral Lowbottom foolishly attacked the Qixa, breaking your peace treaty with them.

The Kzinti are run by Incavo. I don't know if they had a peace treaty, but Admiral Lowbottom corrupted them as well. They attacked the Qixa.

Your former enemy, the Khol is still NPC, but allied with the Frax.

Perhaps you can straighten things out during your "probationary period".

You will find that the Kzinti will give you a non-biased outlook.

Yeah, I'm good. Wind damaged a couple of shingles, found a leak in the attic, but the ground is fine, no flooding. I didn't even get standing water.

I love reading the player campaigns..and marvel at the amount of work some guys do to create a campaign game. One wonders though why reinvent the wheel just use a system that works. These guys get sooo spent that their games development never last more than a year--...oh well. to each his own.
