How about the Mirror Universe?

By Howard Bampton (Bampton) on Friday, April 22, 2016 - 02:16 am: Edit

Guys- run the numbers.

An 8 system empire pulls in a base income of 686 on a war footing (plus homeworld bonuses, CAN-3, etc. mods). Two 4 system empires pull in 154 each (that'd be 308 in total). This is a typical starting empire size (give or take).

A 16 system empire is 2286 vs. 486*2 (972 total). This is a fairly large empire in mid game.

Throwing out half your income (plus any combat losses) isn't a good strategy to take if you want to not be steamrollered by a neighbor. Halving your turns at a full war footing before economic exhaustion hits makes that 2-1 ratio even worse.

Things really get crazy if all empires are large. One trades the "snow ball effect" for a full blown "blizzard"!

Soooo....

By John Burton Steele Sr. (Johnbsteele) on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 - 09:40 pm: Edit

My Gorns will give them warp tech because they feel bad about blowing up that warp core factory so long ago.

By Gregory S Flusche (Vandor) on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 - 09:52 pm: Edit

The Gorns did not blow up the warp science projects. It was Vulcan spies / sabatore. When the Vulcans found out that there was a abomination of Vulcans living with out logic. A successful empire. This could not happen. So the puppet masters put the federation against the Romulans. Vulcan spies agents they were the reason the Romulans had to invent there mind warping technology to dig into the brains of Vulcan agents.

The Gorns are just a way to put the blame elsewhere.

Apparently I shouldn't have stepped away from the computer at lunch time.

Howard...YOU didn't take the Romulans!!!?! My mind is blown. (Not talking IED blown...)

By John Burton Steele Sr. (Johnbsteele) on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 - 10:53 am: Edit

In life 4 things are certain,
1-We pay taxes (if we work)
2-We die
3-John Berg will have the Klingons
AND
4-Howard Bampton will have the Romulans.

If this isn't so then an entity known as "Q" is at his old tricks again.

By John Stiff (Tarkin22180) on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 - 11:37 pm: Edit

In theory, I will return as the ISC (I don't know yet). Seems I blinked and learned that all but the plasma races were taken. I didn't even get a "lunch". Oh well.

At least Howard will have a "5 year" head start on his "good" Romulans in U6!

This is the mirror verse maybe the Klingons are passive?

The Jindarian Federation is passive - well kind of...
