Ever since I got my copy of R107, I've loved the Nicozian Pulse Phasers (E98.0). I suspect I'm not alone.

As most (if not all) of you know, it can be fired as a single Phaser-2 or as two Phaser-3s.

I'd like to ask your opinions on a conjectural, or better yet, SSJ refit to allow ships to have their Phaser-2s replaced with this type of weapon as opposed to the more common refit of upgrading Phaser-2s to Phaser-1s.

Wouldn‘t that be a possible (maybe partial) x-refit of a Phaser-2 (XE2.43)?

While that would be cool to see, in the hierarchy of refits, phaser refits to upgrade Phaser-2s to Phaser-1s happens a LOT sooner than X-partial refits.

To be honest, the ships I had in mind with this potential refit were Lyran Carrier Escorts and a prospective Cobra variant to serve as an Andromedan Carrier Escort.
