Jeff:
I currently have the Disk as a 5/2 unit. One thought I have was that it would be 5/3-2, showing that weapons can survive longer due to the wings.
The Combat Disk has a Flag bridge, and my description does note it as a "Leader" type for other Disks... but I don't have any other plain (non-megaphaser) combat variants. I should probably do that.

Here's an idea....
Give this one to the Gorn.
The Gorn cruisers with their double-bubble configuration could possible make good use of the 'wings' idea.

Idea:
Shortly after the design review the Federation Star Police submited a formal request for several of these designs to counter larger pirate threats. The intention was to have one or two for each Cartel opperating in the Federation. Due to surcomstances this request was never granted. The FSP did submit a design.
Robert, if you like, take it away.

This still seems like black ops ship. Not something you would even let the police see, much less have.

All that would have been between top ranking officials. What a Pol it would make though. Immagine that poor Double Raiders surprise when the wings open on that thing! Of corse, as a Black Ops ship that scenario could still happen.

Actually, I did have a scenario idea along those lines.
A Pirate which had "crossed the line" raiding Fed convoys (selling captives as slaves) moved into Rom territory (to get away from the "Heat").
SpecOps learn of the next pirate target (a Rom supply convoy), and launch a squad (3) of Disks to destroy the convoy and pirate.
2 birds.
1 stone.

Oooh, cool. I the BD doesn't make it, you should find another ship to make that story happen.

While emailing Loren about his X2 Battle Disk design, I realized that none of my Disks have the T-Bombs on their SSD.
So, I'm using this as an excuse to repost the link to the Extension Wing Webpage.
I'm working on the non-Fed Wing ships, so if any of you have an ideas, please feel free to contact me.
