Tactics wise, the one thing I addressed was the purported use of the weapon to help recapture rebel freighters, which to me at least it does not do. (Freighters are already so slow, and cannot disengage by acceleration as I noted, and the occurrence of the cargo movers that can disengage by acceleration is too small to justify carrying the proposed weapon for that purpose, at least to me.)

I did not address larger tactical issues, and again am not doing so to allow the discussion.

Again, you need to look at the rules interactions, and again I only went through some of the "generic" and "Alpha Octant specific" rules it would impact, and in most cases avoided saying how "I" would attempt to resolve issues. I am trying very hard to let you guys discuss and think on things, and research the rules to propose how this or that should work. I do, in each case, have my own thoughts, but even I would go and look at the rules to be sure I was being consistent with them (I have never claimed to be perfect and beyond error).

Hmmm, looking at the added movement cost, I'm not sure that the 1/5 and 1/10 works easily. Since most ships in SFB are 1/4 or 1/3 varieties (1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, 1, etc), adding two or one space(s) along the above might work easier (one could add 1/6 and/or 1/8 MFs for lowing the penalty MFs [(1/8), 1/6, 1/4, 1/3, (3/8), 1/2, (5/8), 2/3, 3/4, (7/8), 1, … ]). The cycle starts (1 1/8, 1 1/6, 1 1/4 … ) over so DNs and BBs can be targeted

I think the Tholian packs use 1/6 MFs and the Fed CS = 5/6, and the Rom SNs use 1/4.

This makes it slightly easier as the MFs are all in operation somewhere …

The Probr use 1/5, and 7/8s, the Fed Ex uses 1/10.

Oh the eye-rolls involved with the name tho.

IKV Unfortunate died of WeBola. First it wobbled, then it fell down.

Frazikar2

Increments of 1/6 for a full hit and increments of 1/12 for partials?

1/6
1/3
1/2
2/3
5/6 (potential troublemaker?)

Lessee... For Movement cost 1/3, it becomes...

1/2
2/3
5/6
1
1+1/6

For movement cost 1/2 it becomes

2/3
5/6
1
1+1/6
1+1/3

For movement cost 2/3...

(Waitaminit, I'm seeing a pattern; I'll need to pull out the crayon and paper. Lemme get back to ya)

A quick look at the partial hit...

1/12
1/6
1/4
1/3
5/12 (Yuck!)

(Deez ain't gonna be so easy...)
