Sure. But that isn't a problem of SFBOL. That is just what SFB is. And trying to make SFBOL into something that SFB isn't is unlikely to be advantageous to anyone. Like, the issue you are identifying is that SFB is a game that, well, is a hard sell to 20 year olds. Which we all already know.

SFBOL is a fantastic system for playing SFB online. Which is great, if you like SFB. It is unlikely to make anyone a convert to SFB, however, which is I think what you are trying to suggest here. But I can't imagine that that is a path that is going to actually have any reasonable payoff.

SFBOL is as close to that is you are going to get, without inventing a fake VR environment. The game looks the same as the table top game. The game works the same as the table top game. Yes. It is true that it does not magically have VR sheets of paper. But in terms of playing a game that is functionally identical to SFB, SFBOL is a good as it needs to be.

Yes. If we lived in a miraculous world where someone had the time and money to invest in a completely retooled SFBOL with a brand new, gold plated VR-esque interface, that would be cool. But it also wouldn't change the nature of the game (which is what you basically seem to be fighting against), and would probably be incredibly cost prohibitive to make happen.
