Questions?
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 - 06:37 pm: Edit |
Let's be clear. If you have a rules question, email Petrick and suspend the game until he gets back to you (which should be within 24 hours unless it's Sunday). Nobody can expect him to be on duty 24 hours a day with real-time answers.
Also, there is no limit on the number of hours you play, just finish in the two week deadline (three weeks for the first round).

Hopefully this won't be a problem but what will happen if there aren't 16 people registered by whatever deadline is stated?

Then we wait until we get 16.

Hey, is the G-Rack Fed TCC being used or the "original" Fed TCC?
I think it is - because on SFBOL the Fed with the G rack is "official" - but the online Sapphire rules should be updated to specify that the Fed with G rack is being used.

Another question on Fed TCC using G rack does it have to announce if its taking ADD vs VIM drones?
I was just curious.

The Fed has the G-rack. I think it had the option of using two type-I and four ADDs, or against the Romulans it had the option of four type-I. The SSD should indicate what drone options are available. There are no type-IV or Scatter-packs available. Note, my memory may be flawed.

Update to clarify any confusion.
Anyone who wins a Star Event gets a "ticket" to claim a seat in a future Crown Event. The ticket is good for five years but will expire then. Because of the recent confusion, players with tickets nearly that old can use them in Crown Event Three.
There must be four unique players for us to hold a Sapphire Crown tournament. No byes, no wildcards, nothing but winners.
The winner of a Sapphire Crown event will rank equal to a fleet captain and will receive an equivalent award.
If you win multiple Sapphire Star events, each gets you a Ticket you can use in a different future crown event. If you win a Sapphire Star event and thus can claim a seat in a future Sapphire Crown event you can decline the honor but remain in line for a later Sapphire Crown event (until the five year limit), so you can avoid having to reschedule a vacation or delay for some other reason. It is not unsportsmanlike to decline (delay) a Sapphire Crown Event seat to avoid playing your best friend; it's not really kosher to delay to avoid someone you are afraid of playing.
Any time there are four unique Sapphire Star winners (with unused Crown tickets), we will try to form a Sapphire Crown event. We will post that on a Sapphire Crown topic. However, since people can delay taking a Crown seat, we might not be able to form a crown event until more Sapphire Star winners appear. We would in such a case try to form a Sapphire Crown every month; anyone who passed on a previous attempted Crown would still be eligible for any future attempt. Whenever we try to form a Crown event, the seats are offered to Star winners in the priority of their Star win. [For example, as of 18 May 2025, there are six people who each have one or more unused Crown "ticket" (Bakija, Mad Jack, Metaldog, Kingzilla, Stimpy, and Spartan, in that order). Some of those hold two unused tickets.]
As an example of seniority, as of 18 May 25, Peter Bakija has the senior claim on a crown seat based on his win of Sapphire Star Tournament 4. If he passes on multiple attempts he remain the senior claimant until he uses his claim or until the time limit runs out, which it will if he doesn't use it for Crown 3.
In the unusual event that we might have eight or more people with unused tickets at a given time, we will never force a player to fight in two Sapphire Crown tournaments at the same time.
