Still no Klingons?

By Eddie Crutchfield (Librarian101) on Saturday, November 30, 2019 - 02:21 pm: Edit

Jeff is it a dead empire?? Kirk finally got his wish.

By Jeff Wile (Jswile) on Saturday, November 30, 2019 - 02:48 pm: Edit

Well, he sure did his best!

Still, rumor has it that there are people that really LIKE Klingons, God only knows why...must be the snazzy uniforms and the disrupters.

I wonder if it is a secret pleasure? Like pork rinds or orange Fanta?

By Gregory S Flusche (Vandor) on Saturday, November 30, 2019 - 02:56 pm: Edit

Klingons are Honorable warriors. They have fast maneuverable ships. With fast firing weapons. You have to be bold and aggressive to be a good Klingon Captain.

By Jeff Wile (Jswile) on Saturday, November 30, 2019 - 08:25 pm: Edit

That why so many of them die young?

By Stewart Frazier (Frazikar2) on Saturday, November 30, 2019 - 11:18 pm: Edit

Because many forget it's '(saber)dance' rather than 'smash' (get caught up in the hunt [landing that killing blow]) …

By Jeff Wile (Jswile) on Saturday, November 30, 2019 - 11:33 pm: Edit

Kzinti martial philosophy and military tradition seems somewhat easier.
(Summarized by screaming "attack!" At the top of ones lungs... AFTER having leaped first. (The procedure is important for cultural and social reasons.))

To me, hit the enemy with enough drones, battle won.

The trick is to get the timing right (leap, scream, launch drones.)

Grin.

By Gregory S Flusche (Vandor) on Sunday, December 01, 2019 - 08:36 am: Edit

It is the Tractor that is important my Kzinti friend. Leap, scream, tractor (or grab) and launch drones (rip to pieces with claws). Then rip them apart with Disr and phasers.

For us Romulans it is more launch heavy plasma. Cloak and lure them in. Uncloak, tractor and bury them in plasma.

By Jeff Wile (Jswile) on Sunday, December 01, 2019 - 10:01 am: Edit

Ixnay tractorvey!

Please do not speak irreverently about our (Kzinti) most treasured gift! Our ability to rend our opponents into confetti!

Let them experience nirvana as it was meant to be! In the last few seconds of consciousness!

Grin.

Nothing wrong with Klingons that overloaded photons cant cure.

By Jeff Wile (Jswile) on Sunday, December 01, 2019 - 02:28 pm: Edit

On an elemental basis, I find little differential between being blown apart by Kzinti drones and disassembled by overloaded photon torpedos.

Dead IS dead, no?

Grin.

By Jeffrey George Anderson (Jeff) on Sunday, December 01, 2019 - 04:05 pm: Edit

Well, Jeff, while there is no difference between being dead by massive Drone strike and dead by massive Photon Torpedo barrage, we all know there is a difference between being all dead and only being MOSTLY dead (a person who's only MOSTLY dead is still slightly alive, but there's only one thing you can do with someone who's all dead; go through their pockets and look for loose change. :)).

(Hey, that film's director may have been a Meathead, but it was a fun film anyhow...)

By Jeff Wile (Jswile) on Sunday, December 01, 2019 - 07:41 pm: Edit

You HAVE to HAVE enough mass to compose most of a body to use the miracle max procedure (I.E. the bellows.)

What Eddie and I are talking about is closer to trying to find a remaining Atom or two.

We Jindarians hide behind a convenient asteroid to take care of seeking weapons. :)

By Eddie Crutchfield (Librarian101) on Monday, December 02, 2019 - 12:04 pm: Edit

Where the submission dates changed? I thought it was December 1, 2019

By Eddie Crutchfield (Librarian101) on Monday, December 02, 2019 - 12:06 pm: Edit

Paragraph 4 and item 24 seem to be in conflict with each other.

By Steve Petrick (Petrick) on Monday, December 02, 2019 - 01:49 pm: Edit

Eddie Crutchfield:

It has been fixed. Submissions are accepted until the 8th.

Any one else? Plenty of unclaimed empires reman.

By Steve Petrick (Petrick) on Wednesday, December 04, 2019 - 03:38 pm: Edit

Still time for more submissions.

By Alan Trevor (Thyrm) on Wednesday, December 04, 2019 - 04:56 pm: Edit

Well, Jeffrey Anderson grabbed the Archeo-Tholians before I was able to, and a Neo-Tholian force with no web casters (per Rule 3) doesn't interest me very much.

By Gregory S Flusche (Vandor) on Wednesday, December 04, 2019 - 05:21 pm: Edit

So do a Klingon force. Step outside your box :)

By wayne douglas power (Wayne) on Wednesday, December 04, 2019 - 05:22 pm: Edit

I can change my Gorn empire choice to some other empire, if that would bring in another submission.

By Steve Petrick (Petrick) on Wednesday, December 04, 2019 - 05:23 pm: Edit

Alan Trevor:

So, take the Klingons. They are your arch-enemy (since you stole the area from the empire), and you should be cognizant of the strengths and weaknesses of their ships and tactical doctrines. Well, okay, you could also take the Seltorians as an arch-enemy.

As has been noted before, it is first come first served and no one gets to say "You have to promise I get to use my favorite empire." (Well ... you can say it, but as noted, it is first come first served because more than one person has the same favorite empire as another player.)

Please take the above as good natured jostling and not an attack.

There are honestly quite a few empires still available.

At least three in the Alpha Octant, twenty in Omega, and the whole Magellanic Cloud is open.
