What happens if two different units try to use a transporter on the same crystal at the same time?
By wayne douglas power (Wayne) on Saturday, December 21, 2019 - 10:41 pm: Edit |
150 crystals, probably happens when the crystal count is low (only enough for the transporters on ships). The ship transporting with the best ECCM wins it, and if still a draw then roll for it perhaps?
By Richard B. Eitzen (Rbeitzen) on Saturday, December 21, 2019 - 11:19 pm: Edit |
A shuttle could be blown up releasing its two crystals and three ships each try to transport both crystals, for example.

What happens if a Lyran ESG rams the asteroid?
By Kurt Byanski (Kurtski) on Sunday, December 22, 2019 - 02:11 pm: Edit |
It should take damage???? See terrain rules (P).

ISC tactics submitted.

Michael Grafton, Kurt Byanski,
At a guess , I would say the Dilithium Crystal Asteroid in this scenario can not be destroyed (until it blows up at the end of turn 15).
By Steve Petrick (Petrick) on Monday, December 23, 2019 - 04:20 pm: Edit |
If an ESG field hits the asteroid, the ESG field will be reduced to zero. The ESG damage is applied to the asteroid, but see (G23.52).
The asteroid can be destroyed by weapons fire by (P2.312), but all that means is that the dislithium crystals can then only be recovered by transporter, and any crystals remaining in the hex are still destroyed on Turn #15 when the asteroidal debris immolates.
For scenario purposes, 400 points to destroy the asteroid, but note that the rule says that it is just "broken up," it is otherwise still there and when its debris immolates on Turn #15, it takes any dilithium in the hex with it.
And, again, the scenario only allows shuttles to recover dilithium by landing on the asteroid, it does not allow shuttles to pick up dislithium floating in space, only transporters can do that.

After turn 15, what happens to any dilithium floating in space?
By Ted Fay (Catwhoeatsphoto) on Monday, December 23, 2019 - 05:17 pm: Edit |
I'm really enjoying this scenario.
I'd love to try my ISC force match-up for an actual playtest on SFBOL. Any takers? We'd need 3 more players who can coordinate schedules, obviously.
By Steve Petrick (Petrick) on Monday, December 23, 2019 - 05:38 pm: Edit |
Richard B. Eitzen:
As was said before, if you have defeated the opposing forces you can pick anything you can gather from their remains up. If you have not, everyone disengages. Any dilithium still in the asteroid hex is immolated and destroyed.

ISC force match up will need a Klingon, a Kzinti, and a Vudar. All these squadrons are solid forces in the 4 player Dilithium Crystal Asteroid scenario. (I am involved in two campaigns at present, I would like to see that scenario played out on SFBOL, and a few other Battle Group 550 scenarios)
By Eddie Crutchfield (Librarian101) on Monday, December 23, 2019 - 05:55 pm: Edit |
I wonder what would happen to a ship in that hex
By Steve Petrick (Petrick) on Monday, December 23, 2019 - 05:57 pm: Edit |
Eddie Crutchfield:
Nothing. The asteroid immolates and the dilithium crystals in that hex (and not on a ship or shuttle) all immolate with it.
By Ted Fay (Catwhoeatsphoto) on Monday, December 23, 2019 - 06:07 pm: Edit |
So, Wayne, is that a yes?
By wayne douglas power (Wayne) on Monday, December 23, 2019 - 06:21 pm: Edit |
Ted, a maybe, I know the Kzinti and the Klingon, not so the Vudar.
Are the players that submitted the forces in the ISC match up wanting to play out the scenario on SFBOL?
By Richard B. Eitzen (Rbeitzen) on Monday, December 23, 2019 - 06:38 pm: Edit |
SPP, respectfully, that was not all said before.
Thank you for the reply.

Lyran maneuvers submitted (can see a revision in the future, maybe) …

I have not been on SFBOL, would need some instruction on the interface, I did watch some games on it several years ago. Is there a list of commands or instructions available.
By wayne douglas power (Wayne) on Monday, December 23, 2019 - 10:09 pm: Edit |
Yes , go to the SFBOL client in bbs has tutorials instructions.
By wayne douglas power (Wayne) on Monday, December 23, 2019 - 11:34 pm: Edit |
400 points to destroy the asteroid, it may be worth while with a squadron with lots of transporters, and not many shuttles. (take about three turns to destroy)
If the squadron is going to do 400 points of damage over three turns , it would be better to do it to the enemy ships.
By Gregory S Flusche (Vandor) on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 - 09:13 am: Edit |
ah 400 pts? I have 4 S 30 each, 2 G 2o each, 6 F 20 each. So 120 + 40 + 120 = 280. Nope not enouph
By wayne douglas power (Wayne) on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 - 10:34 am: Edit |
The Gorn plasma can do 410 pts with 1x enveloper R, 1x enveloper S, 5x S, 1x G, 4x F. (one destroyed Asteroid, or squadron)

So far, nine of 16 battle groups have submitted tactics.
In re the Asteroid. I guess I am trying to be too cute.
Try this: By Scenairo Fiat the Asteroid is indestructible. Shuttles landed on the asteroid have the usual immunities from explosions in adjacent hexes. The asteroid can absorb an infinite amount of damage until it immolates. Any crystals in the asteroids hex at he end of Turn #15 that are not on a shuttle or ship are destroyed when the asteroid immolates.
By Kurt Byanski (Kurtski) on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 - 11:48 am: Edit |
That works and narrows my tactics. Thanks!
