But don't those kits require time to attach to the SZ3/SZ4 shuttles to even work (plus time to attach drones to the hardpoints)??

Has there been any mention of the time needed to attach a kit to a shuttle?

Seems like the idea has found some people willing to discuss possibilities.

For my part, I am having trouble seeing a new fighter type (as proposed by Mike Grafton) that is intentionally less effective than either the F-111 or the A-20 Being built circa year 180-81.

If the goal is cheaper, why not use F-18 or F-101? If you need a photon, why not pick a bomber? We already know that there is a strict limit on ships that can deploy A-10 or A-20 assault shuttles... so it’s a reach to think Mikes el cheapo photon shuttle would be selected for ship deployment.

Bombers are limited to planets, so in cases where you want to fight away from planets and need a photon torpedo, it won't do.

The previous statement is not meant as an argument advocating for or against a new fighter.

Between the A10 and A20 the Feds have all of the photon fighters they need. Nothing superior to them can be approved; nothing worse seems to have any purpose. Photon fighters aren’t RARE and do not need to become less rare.

Someone hijacked my idea thread.

ALL I proposed was soemthing that was proposed and never even went into production.

Not a kit. Not a bomber. A true 2 space fighter.

Not built later on, but proposed at the same time as the F111 and A20 were proposed.

And not to serve along side the F111/ A20 team, but as a potential competitor for the INITIAL contract to be the standard.

Jeesh I hate when this happens.

Oh, he’s okay.

And I think I object to the idea that the “other kids” started picking on Garth.

The truth is, we’ve never really stopped.

It’s how we show that we care!

(Besides, he usually gives at least as good as he gets! Real team player!)
