Game 4.1 AUX vs Shark
First off Greg T is a Jonah and can no longer wish me or Ron good luck and roll 1 and 2s. As I roll 1s for both HB shots, Ron roll lots of 1s for his Labs on drones. An we both had to double tap drones to kill them with p3s.

so we finished 4 turns today , Round 2 tomorrow morning at 9:00 EST.
Turn one I turn left and ran the wall, and turn to D in the last few imps to get in behind the drones that I started launching late in the turn. Ron came up the center and launched 3 drones late in the turn also. We ended the turn around 15 hex apart. and he dumped 4 std disruptors.

Turn two we both tried to work for a good shot, but he had trouble getting around my drones and ended up using 4 std disruptors to kill off 2 of the 4 drones. I got a range 6 shot at his #3 in the middle of the turn and did 16 to his #3 and roll the first of my two 11s for a hellebores. We ended the turn with me Facing A and he was facing E I believe.

Turn three my speed was 21 to 17 about half way into the turn. As I was recharging and heading for the top right corner. Once into the corner I sent out a other wave of drones to meet Ron. Ron got turned around by using a 14 to 25 speed split I believe. And ended the turn facing me in the corner with his #2 to my #2 at range 6 I believe. with my drones between us.

Turn four my speed plot was 21 changing to 17 on imp 4 , then up to 25 eight imps later. As I was expecting Ron to go for a range 6 shot with Ols and then turn away, as I would be out of his arc on my first move. But like any crazy shark he turned in . But once again the Greg Hex came up when Ron tried to kill off drones , and missed bad. Ron ended up firing at R6 with 4 std disruptors and phasers, doing a whopping 22., to my #3. Once again the Greg "Jonah "show up. Next imp Ron jumped up his speed to 25 and HET facing F , with my drones chasing. And I turn all so to chase him down using 2 batty to jump my speed up to 27. The chase was on across the top of the map. imp 25 I got a Range 5 shot on his #4 , doing 19 from phasers and disruptors, And then the Greg "Jonah " had to show his head as I once again rolled 1s for my hellebore. We ended the turn at R5 with my #6 facing his #4 . Part two tomorrow at 9:00 EST

Greg is my great talisman of luck. With him on my side I need never fear johns hellbore Cannon.

It looked like a great game I stood silent and watched two master's hash things out with some wacky die rolls.

It barely fazes these guys. They are hard core sfb players and I feel privileged to watch the match.

The WYN already won the tournament. All that remains is to determine which ship and captain earn all the spoils and accolades.

It was like watching betas fight shield three to shield 3. In a death spiral. Both opponents rapidly shifting speed trying to get an upper hand drone wise. I've faced both these guys in the past and not even biblical Jonah phases them much. It's awesome to see how the masters do it.

Turn 5: Shark plots 27/26/14 for 20 moves. Recharges bats and some phasers. Holds 2 SS and starts arming WWs. I later use my bats to sc to 22 instead of 14. AUX goes 20/17/27. I run trying to keep him off of my 5 box #4 while avoiding the 6 drones on the map. By Imps 29 I have to let him have shot on my #4 or give him R2 at EOT. I launch 3 drones here and he fires 4 p-1s and OL disr at R4. The dice continue to hurt John. He misses with OL and only does 12 with the p-1s. I take 7 in. He does get 2 p-3s and a drone rack. He kills my 3 drones with Gat and p-3s and we end the turn with him 3 hexes off my #5 shield and 6 drones 4 hexes from my ship.

Turn 6:Shark plots speed 0 with 2 tacs. OLs Disr. Finishes phaser cap. Puts 2 in tractor and .5 in transporters. Finishes 2 WW and holds 2 SS. I really figured my only chance was to blow both tractors off his ship. Aux plots 12/20. Overloads HB and Disr. Holds 2 SS and puts nothing in tractor. John fires his OL HB on Imps 1. Hitting with the HB for the 1st time this game. I take 11 in. Losing 2 p-1s and a disr. Because the damage came in the #4 I had no more p-3 padding. Imps 2 and 3 I tac to bring my ship to facing A. I am 2 hexes from the left wall and John is against the wall facing D at R2. Imps 5 the drones move to R1 off my #1and John does a SC to 20. Imps 6 I launch a WW speed 5 dir F. Imps 7 John turns C to avoid taking colat on a random shield as the drones do 84 to the WW. Having Ided a heavy drone earlier I now know he is out of heavies. (I was also out of heavies but John had AKed one without Iding it) John now launches 5 drone dir C. It would take them 5 moves to make it to the WW. Imps 8 he slips into my hex and launches a SS at speed 0. Imps 9 I decide to take a chance. I fire everything I have at R0. I am hoping to blow off both tractors. I do 80 damage. John did not think I would fire so he held his. I get 16 power, 2 drone racks, 2 p-3s, and a P-1. NO TRACTORS. I thought I was in trouble. Imps 10 John moves out of my hex. The Drones HET to face my ship. I use a bat to tac to B. The SS hits my #6 for 18. I launch my second WW dir F Speed 3. John Fires OL disr and 2 p-1s at me and a p-1 as p-3 as well as his other p-3 at the WW. I take 18 to my #2. Imps 12 the drones do 8 colat to my #5. My shields are a mess. John moves away for the rest of the turn. I speed up to 9 with my last 4 bats. We end at about R10 and I repair my 2 FX p-3s.

I have 35 power, 3 disr, 2 drone racks, 5 p-1s and 5 p-3s. all 5 bats. 2 SSs

John has 21 power, 3 drone racks, Disr, HB, gat, 3 p-1s and a p-3. No bats, and no shuttles.

John thinks for a while and graciously concedes.

John played a very good game. So many things went my way. He missed with the HB TWICE. He missed with an OL disr on a down shield. He guessed wrong on whether I would run or park on turn 6. He guessed wrong on whether I would fire at R0 and null my WW. I got very lucky against a very good player.

I went back through the threads looking for Turns 1-4, but couldn't find them. I guess they were never written up...?

Ok, Thanks Wayne!

I was confused by the names: John Rigley (who I guess is CrashandBurn?), Greg Thrasher (Greg T), and Ronald J. Brimeyer (Captainron).

When I looked at the Game4.1, Turns 1-4, I saw Greg's name mentioned several times and thought this was a different game. I was looking for Captainron vs CrashandBurn Turns 1-4...

And Greg Thrasher (Greg T.) even commented right after that post (saying he felt bad), so that seemed to confirm that was a different game.

Anyway, now I have the complete info. Thanks!!

Before John and I started our game, Greg T. wished us luck. That we all roll 1s and 2s. The 1st die roll for the game was John IDing 2 R2 drones. He rolled 2 3s. He found that the drones were targeted on him and not his drones. I commented that he was lucky he did not roll 1s and 2s as Greg had wished for. From that point on we each blamed Greg for every bad roll. 5s and 6s with p-3s vs drones. 1s on labs. 12 and 11 on John's first 2 HB shots. It added a little comic relief to the already fun game. Greg was a fine sport about the whole thing.
