I put the SSDs for the Alunda Huntship and Whipship next to each other. The only differences were...

Huntship Bioelectric Bolts #s 1-4 removed.
Replaced on Whipship with Plasma Whips E through G.
Huntship Plasma Cloud Generator G removed.

It got me thinking about a possible Devourer variant with Plasma Whips replacing some Bioelectric Bolts.

Given the EIGHT Bioelectric Bolts on the Canon Devourer, the vessel has a higher firepower to power ratio than the other Alunda designs, it occurs to me that it's possible for Alunda Gengineers to try to do the same sort of "Tweaking" to the Devourer that was done to the Huntship to produce the Whipship.

As a possible parallel, I'm looking at...

... Remove Bioelectric Bolts #s 5-8.
... Consolidate and cover RA blind spot with TWO Bioelectric bolts RH.
... ADD TWO Plasma Whips (probably to rear hull area).
... Convert Plasma Cloud Generator (as noted, removed from Huntship to Whipship conversion) to ARF (expect controlling the range to target as being more important for this variant).


My expectation for a "Class History" is that its smaller size (when compared to the Whipship) led to it being more easily destroyed in the "Overrun an enemy and chop it to pieces using plasma whips" battle plan of the Whipship and, as such, would be a rarely built/grown ship that would not see service for very long.
