Many, many years ago, I worked with Jeff Anderson to work out rules and an SSD for his idea.

The idea was simple enough: Build a rotating external docking port onto a Mothership that would would fit a Satellite Ship.

Once docked, the Satellite Ship would effectively act as a turret.

Anyway, Jeff has asked that I share it, and being a somewhat "out there" design, April Fool's Day is as a good as any.

Side note: I've seen at least two misspellings in the rules, but I no longer have the original document I used to write them. And since I don't have Adobe premium (or whatever it's called these days), I can't edit the PDF directly.

The origin of the idea is weird in and of itself. I'd just (badly) lost a pretty good sized battle and the miniatures were still out on the board. Feeling (more than) a little headachy, in my usual style, I did something DUMB; I pulled a SatShip miniature off its stand, set it on top of the Intruder miniature on the table, and made some dumb comment about it blasting enemies behind the mothership.

Yeah. Sad thing is, I still do dumb stuff like that, even some twenty, thirty years on...

Anyhootch, it got my (so-called) creative juices going a little, especially with the thoughts of a Terminator in the turret.

Yeah. A mauler with (effectively) a 360 arc of fire. To me, that's something so potent that it requires quite a bit of balance.

For both these ships, much of that balance comes from losing their FH TRH. Both designs, Roberts and mine, also lose hangar space, really cutting in on the amount of free maneuvering SatShips that can be in that fight.

OH! As another bit of my "Silliness," the name for the first turntable ship, the Inebriator, comes from the (imagined) "Class History." The story is, the StarFleet Cadet who came up with the design did so while drunk...

At any rate, I'm personally happy that Robert is sharing them with everyone and that you like them too.
