Heh, I was not prepared for you to come in close, and you were prepared for coming in close, which, well, kills me.
Again, I was totally expecting an enveloper, as I always expect an enveloper from a Romulan, and that didn't happen. My turn off was guessing you were also going to turn, to avoid R8, but well, none of the things I expected to happen happened :-)

Getting these SS tournaments to run reasonably smoothly is the best we can do, and what we got is generally running reasonably smoothly.
If someone else wanted to organize and run a Swiss format tournament, I suspect there would be at least 8 people willing to play.

MadJack (Gorn) vs Madman (Orion) playing 3/8 at 6p unless we need to cancel for some reason we aren't sure of yet.

You can run a tournament without any sort of webpage; just ask here to set up a thread for the tournament, and organize everything in the thread.

Moose over AdmiralDZZI in 6 turns. Too tired for a write up tonight, I will try for one tomorrow.

Hey Moose,
I've sent you email on scheduling, please have a look!

I am almost ready to start a new campaign, but need feedback by someone on the rules. The format will be quasi round-robin, and is organised by the Masters to find out who REALLY won the general war.

Remarkably, MadJack (Gorn) over Madman (Orion).

Thanks Geoff. You'll get a link by email to the Google Drive document.

What happened there? I always like seeing how that goes.

It was an odd game where everything seemed to work out for me.
T1 - I launched both fakes on different impulses late in the turn. Dana did not double anything. We ended the turn like range 7 with neither one of us firing.
T2 - He doubled both warp and bricked up a rear shield. He ran the torps out a little and then took the fakes on his brick. He turned around but I launched 50 into his face before he could get close. He shot the 50 and they hit his brick. I fired several phasers on the same shield rolling well for a few internals including the drone rack and a warp. He doesn't fire at me with anything.
T3 - I park and tac and he doubles both warp. I launch an enveloper once he turns into me at range 8 and I have 2 ww's ready. He ends up taking 60 for 10 internals and I got an unfired overloaded hellbore at range 5-6. He keeps coming in so I launch the last F thinking I will get more internals after it hits and I fire phasers. He Hets away to avoid that thinking he would get turned back around and close to r1 before the end of the turn. I fire 8 phasers after 4 tacs and see he uses batteries to stop more internals so I think he probably can't het again. I do get some internals though nothing real consequential. Late turn I speed up on batteries and he never gets the other overloaded hellbore back into arc.
Good intense game. Not much I would change about my play. I practiced hard for this one, harder than I have in years for a single game. I knew this game was going to be extremely tough and I had to play 2 Orions in a row (lots of practice).
Biggest factor was getting the drone rack on the first internal.

The campaign rules have been sent to Geoff for feedback. I don't expect major changes since I kept them simple. As soon as i have a better campaign name than "What will the Masters do now? (Or, "-Oh no! It's the General War all over again!".)
" I'll ask SPP to set up a new thread and accept sign ups.
