In the GW the Tholians discovered that they had serious issues working with their Gorn & Kzinti allies due to web effects that Tholian warships can ignore.

However a brilliant Tholian working on Webcasters discovered that Snares and Webcasters can be tuned to fire on friendly targets and provide them with what the Feds called "web grease." This was available from YXXX as a refit of any webcaster or web snare equipped ship at a cost of X BPV each.

Any snare or Webcaster can fire "web grease" at any target hex that they could normally cast web into.

All ships and other warp capable things (drones, shuttles, PFs) in the target hex at the moment of impact get THREE times the nominal strength of the cast "web grease" in web pass ability. This effect lasts 32 impulses.

Alternately the grease can be fired at any web hex and 3 times the strength of that cast grease is taken off the web. Note that this can "evaporate" cast web instantly, or make linear/or globular web weaker.

Example. Gorn CA is moving speed 12 and is approaching a strength 10 cast web. Tholian CAX fires webgrease onto the CA and it can ignore the web and maneuver freely into and out of the web. If the web strength is greater than the amount of "grease" then the ship is affected by the difference between the web strength and speed.
