If you didn’t understand how it works and didn’t realize you were voluntarily opting out, you still voluntarily opted out (actually you voluntarily delayed) which is no penalty, no fault, no shame. You didn’t voluntarily throw your ticket away, you voluntarily delayed using it. You still have it.

It’s like you played a video game, won a ticket to see the TOP GUN movie, didn’t use it, but now get to use it to see TOP GUN MAVERICK. You still get a free movie! For that matter, you can use it to see GODZILLA TAKES RENO 2026 if you want.

If you have a delayed ticket for Crown 3 but don’t want to have to face Doomkiller Bakijarama, you can voltarily delay.

I dunno what happened there. I went digging around to figure it out, and here is all I can find:

Jack wrote on April 26, 2022:

So that was the point at which we had 4 distinct players for Sapphire Crown 2.

There was some discussion about Metaldog being MIA in that same thread (I dunno what happened there).

Then, discussion of Sapphire Crown 2 kind of vanished.

On August 17, 2023, SPP wrote:
"Sapphire Crown appears to be in the offing. Ron Brimeyer, Seth Shimansky, Dana Madsen, and Cadet Stimpy are up. Geoffrey Clark is next if any of the previous four are unavailable."

So that was Ron (SS9) and Seth (SS10) from the previous list, plus Dana (SS11) and Stimpy (SS12). Metaldog (SS8) was off the list due to being MIA. I have no idea why Jack (SS7) fell off the list.

Then on August 30, 2023, SPP posted the Sapphire Crown 2 tree:

"Sapphire Crown II

Daniel Bitseff (Cadet Stimpy) versus Seth Shimansky (Kingzilla)

Ron Brimeyer (Captain Ron) versus Dana Madsen (Madman)"

So Sapphire Crown 2 happened as listed above. I can't find any information why Jack fell out of Crown 2. Maybe there is a message in there somewhere that explains it? I couldn't find it. Jack, any memory here?

I can tell you exactly why I fell out. I won 2 of them too close together. Then, we thought we needed 4 unique winners to have a Crown and we wouldn't have a Crown until we had 4 unique players.

Then, there was no thought of carryover entries. If it makes sense for me to play the next Crown, sign me up!

Wasn't active at the time but the rules up a level say "If you win two Sapphire Star tournaments you only get one seat in the next Sapphire Crown". That's in the context of in a year or consecutive.

So what may have happened is Jack won 2, 5 and 7 so somewhere in there he may have a lost a ticket based on the original rules. But those rules also says to expect future tweaks and SVC is now generously offering to go back and fix that which I think we're all ok with.
