Hey, John, I have been out of the loop but I have posted comments on this particular thread. I have a X2 FF SSD. If I send you the .gif file, could you post it?

Not a problem.

For what it's worth, I was toying around with a Fed DGX last night and re-organised it into a an X2 scout with 8 speacial sensors, ( 5 where the Torps were and 3 where the forward phasers were ) with 8 labs ( through conversion of the AWRs) and found that it was quite neat.
It should give the Feds a return to 8 special sensors on a scout but with the movement abilities of an X2 vessel...great for dealing with monsters.

I should also say that marking the Scout table with the S-Bridge symbol for the functions that can be done by the S-Bridge, allowed me to reduce the number of tables by 1.

For X2 to work nicely it would be best if the XFF and XDD had a balanced GW ship to duel against.

Well yeah.
I think the XFF should start at 130 BPV and refit up to 170 so it can take on opponants from an NCLa+ (or D5K) through to a BCG (or more probably BC).
With an XDD starting at 170 and refitting up to 240, it should be able to be playtested against a BCH and a CX respectively.
I'm not saying the Fed XSC should be their only XDD (and using the DGX as the base helped me have a willingness to alter the outline so that that ship is psecifically a wholly different design (mostly) from the Fed XDD).

You know, I've been thinking about whether or not XFF should never come to pass.
If we allow all XFFs to be nimble, it might be the edge theyneed to stay in the game.
