Any updates on this topic? I'm currently using a mapping program tailored to my needs for my campaign system. It tracks movmement week by week, specific unit info, tracks campaign date, die rollers, different zoom levels on the map,add links to other files (like searchable rulebooks)can run mulitple instances of the program at the same time. Still it does not conduct battles for me yet. ALso it is just a campaign moderator aid.

Gregg, I would be interested in the name of the program you use and how one gets it.
I know I had offered to help on the project, but all communiques about it stopped a 2-3 years ago. I would like to revive this as I can help, I would just need to find time (which I think is the reason why this stalled).

I would be interest in the program also.

There is some work being done on a PBEM moderator tool and some of what you have done could be used.

Maybe this is the wrong thread for this, but... what ho!

I am about to run a two-player campaign, kind of a border war. There will be no moderator. However, instead of taking turns side by side, we want to do a simultaneous thing.

What we are looking for is a solution, a way to have us both send our moves in and then, when both are received send the results out to us. This way, we are blind until both submit.

It would be great for an E-mail solution, where we both mail to and then get the info back.

Does anyone know of a way to handle such a thing over the Internetoobs? Or another good way to do this?

Eric Smith has a good mapping tool that could do the map part.

I've used Vassal for the mapping part quite successfully.

I am going to be putting together a piece of software very soon (break ground on it in about a week) that accepts a spreadsheet order-sheet from each player. When everyone has their sheets in, it calculates each player's encounters, and spits out a player-specific map and base order-spreadsheet.

Programming language will be PHP running in a LAMP environment (which is to say, it will be on a webserver. I have one). Spreadsheets will be in Excell5 (compatible with office 2007).

If something like this is what you're looking for, perhaps I can code it for your campaign before moving on to mine?

NeonPico,

Is there a way you could program a website that each player can copy text into, and when everyone has put their text in, it sends all of them to an address at the same time? That is what I need. I wish I could program, but I can host the server.

Yeah. pretty easily, if I understand you correctly. Email me (in my BBS info) and we'll talk.

Matthew,

Did you finish the PHP code for this and is it available?

Above & Beyond has an opening for a Kzinti Admiral.
Currently on T4[Fall Y169] so quite young.
Fleet size based on CBpv to encourage battles.
Fleet build restrictions as well so we do not see leader ships only, followers need to be built.

This is a Fog of War format.

If interested, email me in my profile.
I will send you the details for your consideration & get you up to speed if you decide to join.

Cheers
Frank
