I made my order: Basic Set, Advanced Missions and Tactics Manual (for me anything is useful at this stage).

Btw, I played twice the first three scenarios and I'm going to play the fourth one.

Hello all I hope this is the right place to post my question I am totally new at this and I just bought Star Fleet Battles Captain's Edition Basic set.

1) I downloaded the cadet training "book"
2) I downloaded the "Let's play... Star Fleet Battle" (1 sheet)
3) I am reading on the sheet in question that I have a Federation Heavy Cruiser" but on my Captain's Basic SSD book that came with the game, the ship in question is totally different compared to the one in the paper sheet. Same thing with the Klingon D7.

Thank you very much for any guidance.

The versions of those ships in the Cadet training book are much simplified to make learning easier.

welcome... and good luck. The game is not as hard to learn as it looks. All you need to learn are the basic rules. Then the advanced movement rules and ship systems. All of the rules pertaining to each race can be learned as you play them are against them.

True if not playing Tholians you do not need to study up on the Web and web caster. Are Orion pirate rules if not playing them as well. There are a whole lot of Species specific rules.
