Andromedan Medium Tractor Repulsor Beams

I came up with this system in order to create an Andro tournament viable ship a while back for use in a tournament I was planning. It seemed to me and my play group that the Andro was too powerful with TRh's and too weak with Trl's. We never implemented it in a tournament but did try it in some regular games.

Arming 3/2 over 2 turns.
range 0-3 4-5 6-8 9-12 13-18 19-25
die roll
1 15 15 13 9 5 2
2 15 15 10 7 4 2
3 15 13 9 5 3 1
4 15 9 7 4 3 0
5 13 9 6 2 0 0
6 9 7 4 0 0 0

I, for one, would love to see a TRM introduced. Not to mention a few other TR-options (like the MTR in the rules linked above).

But: if wishes were fishes, we'd all live in the sea.42

I followed your link and see that others have my notion has RC officially proposed his TR rules?

Neat idea...

I have submitted the TRM to SVC - though I doubt I was the first to do so.42

Very interesting idea.

Been around a long while, IIRC, it was
stated it was not gonna happen. I may be
misremembering..

The problem at this stage is where to put them.

Seems to me it opens a huge can of worms.

Are they valid SS fare?

How many go on a ship?

By Hugh Bishop (Wildman) on Monday, October 25, 2004 - 09:42 pm: Edit

Our original intent was to use the TRm on the Andro tournament ship instead of the TRl or TRH, in the hopes of creating a balanced Andro.

By John Trauger (Vorlonagent) on Monday, October 25, 2004 - 11:52 pm: Edit

So we're back to "how many"? Three?

By Hugh Bishop (Wildman) on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 - 09:01 am: Edit

We were going for full replacement on the tourny ship. In our discussions it was theorized that as the Andros retreated back toward the LMC during the war, that they may have needed to upgrade their smaller ships with trm's as hulls were at a premium and more firepower was needed.

By Barton Pyle (Bart) on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 - 05:22 pm: Edit

I was thinking that the TRM could be installed on Conq and large sat ships. They seem to be medium size vessels so it might be worth a try to have TRMs on them.

Doms and Int's with TRH's

Conq's and Mamba's with TRM's (I think the Mamba is a large sat ship, I can't remember at the moment for sure).

and Medium and small sat ships with TRL's

Barton, it also gives the andros a chance to create overgunned versions of the smaller hulls similar to attrition units of the Galactic races during the General war.

Being an Andro lover, I think the idea is great but implementing it is another thing. I like the idea of them on the Light Cruisers and Heavy Sat Ships. This could be limited to use only on 2/3 movement cost ships, thus solving the problem of smaller hull attrition units. The only big problem I see is that this requires the reprinting of SSDs which is not a favorite pastime.

William,

Actually, ADB just reprinted all of the Tholian DN's in CL29 (8?) because of SVC+SPP actually putting PC hulls together to construct the Arch-BB in CL28.

So it is possible, if its warranted.

I'm not stating that this is the case for the Andros though.
