Welcome to SFB Galactic Conquest!
We're the longest running campaign game around (we've been going strong since the mid 1980s).
Currently there are three Universes in operation. Each Universe's primary discussion topic has a Who's Who in the Universe and a list of open positions.
Universe 5 is run by John Berg. The starting year is 160 and the galaxy is at peace. How long will that last? Probably not long--the name of the game is Galactic Conquest not Galactic Let's All Be Friends.
If you play Star Fleet Battles and have ever wondered just why these ships were fighting, join us!
Federation & Empire players will find their skills directly transfer to this game.
Into Prime Directive RPGs? There's room for that here too. Visit our Universes' various topics to read our banter. But make no mistake, this campaign is called Galactic Conquest for a reason. Rhetoric alone won't win the game.
There is a mentoring system in place for those who would like to learn the system with the help of an experienced Admiral.

Galactic Conquest Needs You!
The galaxy is at war. The very existence as a group of unique and diverse set of lifeforms is in jeopardy. Can you work cooperatively with others to defeat a common enemy?
Do you like games with tons of strategy?
Do you like to be in control of your own destiny?
Do you like a non rushed format to take care of as many details as you like?
Do your have extra time on your hands?
Do you like economic engine building ?
Do you like war gaming?
You get to build an economy that produces thousands of Star Fleet Universe economic points (EPV). Build all your favorite ships from the Star Fleet Universe. Spend economic points to conduct research and development, conduct espionage, create a merchant marine engine for the civilian sector, build minefields, and so many other ways to spend cash.
Give us a try.

Mentor system for new players:
Galactic Conquest has been running since 1985, a very long time. In that time a rule set has developed that is complex, layered, and exceedingly satisfying. The full Galactic Conquest experience provides hours of entertainment in the form of planning, execution, and community banter. Half of the players have been involved for over ten years. The game system allows all of the intricacies of a gaming system you would expect: engine building, cooperative play, political intrigue, primary and secondary victory conditions, and so on. The game would also have a BoardGameGeek complexity rating of perhaps 4.75/5.0 if it were a board game. As such, we provide a mentoring system in the game so new players can gradually get up to speed without feeling overloaded and confused. In the end, the game system allows a player to invest as much time, or as little time, as is wished. Obviously, the more time invested in the game, the greater the immersive experience.
Each new player gets the general background of the chosen Empire. This is followed by incremental information on that empire which slowly explains the information presented. Each new player is also assigned a veteran player mentor. The mentor will always provide the correct answers to questions, guidance on the game mechanics, in-game historical context, and other support. No question is too small, nor is any list of questions too many. The typical new player is encouraged to first master fleet movement, then move to diplomacy, and finally to economics (the most complex part of Galactic Conquest). This has been found to be the easiest way to learn the game. Of course new players are always welcome to “jump in” on all three parts of the game right away if they so desire.
So, if you like large scale SFB ship action, a bit more strategic detail than a free campaign of Federation & Empire, the features that a third party moderator can bring to the game, and large economic/political engine building games, then check out the intro player folders on the Star Fleet Battles BBS (http://www.starfleetgames. com/discus/) and/or the pinned Facebook post .
