Welcome to SFB Galactic Conquest!

We're the longest running campaign game around (we've been going strong since the mid 1980s).
Currently there are three Universes in operation. Each Universe's primary discussion topic has a Who's Who in the Universe and a list of open positions.

Universe 3 is run jointly by John and Mike. The Andromedans have invaded our galaxy and for once the galaxy is united in the face of these invaders. But can the Andromedans persuade a Galactic Power to betray the others?

Universe 4 is run by Mike Incavo. The starting year is 150 and the universe is unexplored. The game is run on a double-blind map.

Universe 5 is run by John Berg. The starting year is 160 and the galaxy is at peace. How long will that last? Probably not long--the name of the game is Galactic Conquest not Galactic Let's All Be Friends.

If you play Star Fleet Battles and have ever wondered just why these ships were fighting, join us!

Federation & Empire players will find their skills directly transfer to this game.

Into Prime Directive RPGs? There's room for that here too. Visit our Universes' various topics to read our banter. But make no mistake, this campaign is called Galactic Conquest for a reason. Rhetoric alone won't win the game.

There is a mentoring system in place for those who would like to learn the system with the help of an experienced Admiral.

Explanation of the Status Sheet

R1A> WB2xSnS JJ44:
R2A> 3xWB,HS,SnS Z42:
R3A> SnA- H46:

These are three of the squadrons in A Fleet. The composition of each is noted, along with a location.

R1B> 3xWB,HS,3xSnS,SB M44:
R2B> 2xWB,5xHS,4xSnS K51(1):

These are two of the squadrons in B Fleet. The second one is having a bit of a supply problem (1 turn's worth) because it is either in unexplored space or the host empire won't feed them (for example, if the squadron is invading )

R1M> FOL,SnS E42: : CPL Z39: Total BPV = , allowed 226:

This is part of the Romulan Supplementary Defense (explained more fully in the Rulebook)

R5SR> 2xFL,2xFS,SQ,FAS H81:

This is one of the strategic reserve forces, earning EPs for the MM.

Total BPV= 1745. MM Budget = 131. Available-> 98EP:

Income for the MM is based upon BPV and various economic rules as explained in the Rulebook.

Wking Freighters-> 21xFL,42xFS:

These are the Working Pool of freighters, keeping the Empire going. Without enough of them, Bad Things happen, all leading to the Romulan Empire having less money to spend!

Just what it says--your sensors show that there are Fed ships in that hex. The whys and wherefores of how you obtain sensor readings are in the Rulebook.

SPYING AND INTEL: We have warp and DTM tech. Gorn/Rom Treaty in force. Trade Routes in F46,F47. Gorn FF/CC has Cloak: Surveyed-> MM44,LL50: S39 seen, uninhabited: Gorns sent the following R and D- 300 on FTRS, 100 X tech, 100 Stargate. FRD can do refits and warp upgrades: GCL at K45, GFF K43:

This is letting you know all sorts of things. The Roms are great friends with the Gorns, trading technology back and forth. R&D is fully explained in the rulebook and some of the more common ones are in the R&D thread in the GC topic. Here also the GMs can remind players of rules they may not be utilizing or correct errors in understanding the players may have made.

GENERAL ORDERS FROM HIGH COMMAND: Vice Admiral A Bampton- Commence invasion whenever ready: Vice Admiral B Scwebke- Develop new system at S39:

These two players have orders they should be carrying out.

STATE OF THE EMPIRE: R and D + refit is available

Again more information about the Romulan Empire.

Crew Quality-> .12% poor:

Based on factors explained in the Rulebook, a certain percentage of the crew generated is poor crew. Poor crew don't perform as well, yet still must be placed somewhere...

Core Economics-> Romulus- 45EP, Remus- 90EP: Treasury-> 280: Base Economic Value-> 120EP: EEP = 5.5 - .5: Current Mobility Level-> LW: CAN Normal:

All of this is economic information. The Roms can spend their treasury + Base Economic Value on buying "stuff", including ships.

Attrition Unit Stock-> MLB: MRR- 0%.

This is more information about the Empire and is more fully explained in the Rulebook.

H46 (Romulus;11)- BATS,6xGBDP,3xGMG,GPS, TCB,SnS, SC3SY(WB 50%),3xSC4SY,SC2SY(70EP):

This tells the Romulans exactly what defenses are on Romulus. It also tells them they have a Triple Commercial Base, a SC3 SY with a WB 50% completed, 3 SC4 SYs that are currently empty, and they are building a SC2 SY (total investment is 70 EPs so far).

I reference the rulebook a lot, but it is the heart of the campaign.

Yes, it is complicated, but I think anyone on this BBS could master it, especially if given a bit of help and mentoring.
