Every now and then while using the word processor on the PC, it does something no Mac does, in that it suddenly "switches modes" and instead of the cursor being a vertical line between two letters it highlights one letter in a black block. I cannot "insert" a word into the sentence because it just types over another word that's perfectly fine where it is. I can only assume that I hit some "command key" by accident and I need to know the command that reverses this useless mess. Otherwise I have to close the document and reopen it.
Anyone?

Generally, you toggle from Insert mode to Overtype mode by hitting the [Insert] key.
MS Word now disables this and you must change it by right clicking on the status bar (bottom of the screen where it shows current page/# of words/etc) bringing up an options menu. Select Overtype to switch back and forth.

Thanks! The insert key works just fine.

HELP PLEASE
I was doing several things at once on my PC when I slid the mouse up to click to another screen and somehow turned off the sound on the YouTube video in the background. I have no idea how I did it or how to reverse it.
HELP PLEASE

Most browsers are multi-tabbed, now, with the possibility of any given tab having audio or not. So you can mute/unmute each tab, individually. If you have a tab with a 'speaker' icon on it (usually to the left of the tab name) - click/right-click on that, and see if there is a mute/unmute option.
Dunno your OS, otherwise, but if on Windows - you can also look for a speaker-like icon in your system tray, right click on that and select 'mixer'. This is the app-specific sound settings. Look for your browser (or whatever), there, and make sure it's unmuted and/or sound is set to whatever you are looking for.

I use windows, but none of the tabs has a speaker. Leanna came in and fixed it, pointing out that the restart had fixed it but that my screwing around had turned off the speakers and not toggled them back on.
