Plan B is a workable option.
Let me know how Plan A goes, but I'm not so sure I couldn't do you a color version of the one I have just as easily.
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, May 25, 2007 - 08:09 pm: Edit |
This is easy. Skip plan A. Plan B can be done in color if you want it that way.
Pick a color; any color.
You confused me by putting this in the "new product" topic instead of the "early beginnings" topic. Now that I know you just want a totally blank hex field, this is so easy it hurts. I can have it Emailed to Avalon in any size you want early next week.
By Lawrence Bergen (Lar) on Friday, May 25, 2007 - 08:16 pm: Edit |
Sorry for the confusion. I was looking at the colorized version so the traditional blue field and logos could surround the blankness.
If it is that simple then cool I'll probably just have you do it. Let's wait a few days though to see if Chucks file isn't just as easy (layers). If its not I'll have you get it printed (laminated if posible) and shipped.
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, May 25, 2007 - 08:18 pm: Edit |
Seriously, the file is done unless you want some color other than gray. Pick a color, I will email it to Avalon, and you can order it. I'll have to get you a price but it won't be any more than an LSM.

Blue field is about as easy as sippin Jack Daniels. You don't need to bother Chuck. The man has a war to fight.

Lar:
Just checking-in now -- why didn't you ask me first? I have had one on file for years -- I'll send a copy of the PDF to ADB and if they will permit -- I will send it to you.
Cheers,
Chuck

Awesome news Chuck! Just so everyone is clear on my ideal map.
What I am looking for is for the Origins 2007 Early Beginnings: Free-For-All scenario.

SVC:
Sent you a blank LSM via e-mail last night -- see my note above.

Chuck

Got it, will send it to Avalon Tuesday. Lawrence can order it any time he wants. (Just order an LSM and use special instructions to tell Leanna what you really want.)

Steve:
With print on demand technology is it feasable to print racial omnibus collections of SSDs - like all Federation SSD in one book? If something in the works already then please disregard. Thanks.
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Sunday, May 27, 2007 - 02:28 pm: Edit |
It's something we have talked about.
But every time it comes up, Petrick says "Tos Crawford made that impossible" and we drop the subject.
By Chuck Strong (Raider) on Sunday, May 27, 2007 - 07:55 pm: Edit |
Petrick:
Huh? I don't understand - can you explain how Tos' actions make this suggested product impossible? Thanks.
V/R,
Chuck

Chuck:
I think SPP is referring to the (in)famous "Crawford Boxes" on the newer SSDs. Apparently there is some sort of problem / difficulty with trying to retrofit them onto older SSDs.
Cheers,
Jason
By Mike West (Mjwest) on Sunday, May 27, 2007 - 10:13 pm: Edit |
Just for clarity the "problem / difficulty" is just doing them. There is no technical issue, just the massive time effort of going through every single legacy SSD, cross-checking the information against the MSC, then going back through to make sure their are no errors.
It just takes a lot of time that is probably better spent on other efforts.

I just do not see where it is necessary to add Crawford boxes to every older SSD.
Just print the omnibus volume. If the box isn't on the SSD, Tos can get out his pen and add them himself.

Won't work. SVC already took that survey. Players said if the SSDs aren't all in the same format, they don't want them. {sigh}

So they would rather look in a dozen books rather than have them all together. that was what was really nice about the old Commanders edition SSD books, pull out 1 or 2 books and there was everything.
By Loren Knight (Loren) on Monday, May 28, 2007 - 02:41 pm: Edit |
Well, that was possible because there was half (or less) the ships.
I might suggest that perhaps a compromise would be possible. Put in data-less Crawford boxes. The box and each heading. Then people can research their own data from G3 AND if the data changes they can fix it on later copies (so long as they didn't mark up their originals).
I would find that a perfectly acceptable alternative and the only extra work would be adding the generic Crawford box.

We'll probably end up doing them, but not before Origins. Ask again later.

Cool, does this mean we still have time to add Warship Status?

(No, I'm not being serious)

Tos, serious or not, I'd stay away from Petrick if I were you.

Tos, You are probably safe until the next time Petrick has to do the SSD's... and with CL#35 just finished, you're safe until the next product (module R11?!?).
When that occurs, all bets are off!
