I figured out how to get this discussion board to work in Edge.
In the URL block, type the link: http://www.starfleetgames.com/discus/
Do NOT hit ENTER ... that will cause Edge to convert the link from http to https, which as we all know will not work.
Instead, press CTRL-ENTER. This should keep the link as http. If so, click the star to the right side of the URL block to bookmark the page.
I don't have Chrome installed, so I can't test it there. I normally use Firefox browser.

Seconding the DuckDuckGo browser note; I like that it doesn't inundate my search results with AI-generated responses.

I always use Firefox. Every once in a while have to take the s out again, but it lets me.

Specifically for Firefox:
In the "Tools" menu, select "Settings".
Go the the "Privacy and Security" option (left panel).
Scroll all the way down to "Connection and Software Security" and select "Advanced settings".
On that page there is a "HTTPS-Only Mode" section.
At the bottom of that section is an option to "Manage Exceptions"
Clicking that opens a pop-up window. Enter the web address you want to white-list (in our case here, HTTP://www.starfleetgames.com/discus) and set it to "off"
Since I did that, I have not had any issue with firefox automatically changing it back to https.
