SATURDAY AUGUST 31 DAY 33
Feeling tired, I cancelled all exercise for the day and just rested, sleeping a lot during the day. Pain is minimal, soreness bearable, the future cannot arrive soon enough.

SUNDAY 1 SEPTEMBER DAY 34
I am taking it easy, doing my exercises and not much more. Nice call from Jean and Albert cheered me up. The Bengals are going crazy as they have not been outside in three weeks because Leanna cannot control them alone. (Odin escaped the yard and was going five days while we cried and prayed that no coyote had gotten him.) Looking good to get to the office for an hour on Wednesday or Thursday next week.

MONDAY 2 SEPT, LABOR DAY, DAY 35 OF THE ORDEAL
No real pain, soreness in upper arms and palms of hands from the walker. This is five weeks and they said the bones would take six weeks to heal around the metal parts. Apparently I might take longer due to the alien implants, traumatic nature of the damage, and previous knee replacement. I did my exercises and rested. Jean and Albert came by with KFC for lunch (we did the same for them during Albert's surgery). He is 4 weeks ahead of me and gets around without a cane but with a limp and a grimace. I hope to get better soon.

Alien implants? If you're now Steve of Borg, kindly give me a running start before the assimilation begins....

TUESDAY 3 SEPT, DAY 36 OF THE ORDEAL
Exercises, getting ready for trip to town tomorrow, no real pain, but walkering is tedious and sore. Getting up and down is uncomfortable. Thanks for the prayers; they mean a lot and I can feel them.

My thoughts and prayers are with you as well Steve.

I made it to the office but don't expect to be here any longer than to send excuses and apologies to recent emails.

WEDNESDAY 4 SEPT, DAY 37 OF THE ORDEAL
I got up, made breakfast, took a shower, and got dressed in normal clothes. I went to lunch with the gang. I went to the cardiologist who installed a heart monitor and scheduled a heart scan. Then I went to the office and dug through five weeks of emails, then went home. A lot of steps on the walker.

FRIDAY 6 SEPTEMBER— DAY 39
Occupational therapy released me, said I showed outstanding progress.
Physical therapist was here, new lady who works me half to death replacing the previous guy who spent most of his sessions talking about exercise. She said I was making excellent progress and pushed me to do more and more.

THAT is a sign of a Physical Therapist who cares about his/her patient's health and progress! I had one who not only pushed me, she also explained what each exercise was intended to accomplish and how each of them complimented the proceeding one(s) in obtaining the final goal.

SATURDAY 7 SEPT — DAY 40
I didn’t get much sleep, which made the whole day just groggy.
Leanna had errands to run that could no longer wait, so I rode along to have a fresh lunch. She left me sitting in the restaurant with a soda and a book then came back to get me when she was done.
I did my exercises but not much else.
I kept falling asleep then waking up every hour for a difficult bathroom trip.

SUNDAY 8 SEPT — DAY 41
Tired, sprained my left hand getting out of the wheelchair, did my exercises, trying something to get more sleep tonight.
