We should close on the house December 3.

Wonderful news.

Hope the seller fixed the problems with it. :)

By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 - 04:08 pm: Edit

Jeffrey, this is the second house and there were only a few issues with it, mostly about some wiring and the skylights. Both were fixed by the seller.

This house has a nice kitchen (happy Jean!), two bedrooms that will become offices for me and Al (with beds so the room can double as a guest bedroom), and a suite that would suit a guest. There's a lovely garden area out front and a small water feature out back. And there is a nice den area and a huge area for gaming with a wall of windows looking out into the back yard -- perfect for me to grow plants. There's a nice two-vehicle garage as well.

I really am the luckiest girl in the world.

Congratulations!

I really do wish you both the best.

For those asking about the blog, we are resuming the posts. Please do take the time to read it. When only a dozen folks take the time to read it, I start asking if it is worth Steve's time to write it or my time to post it.

Thanks!

I read them all...
Check most of the time when I go to the site, to see if new one has been done lately...
Will it be Mondays or just when something needs broadcast....

By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Wednesday, January 08, 2020 - 10:57 am: Edit

Mark, it should be Monday or Tuesday, depending on the release schedule for other items.

Mine too.

Odd my account stopped working cold turkey. I had to completely register again

By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Saturday, January 11, 2020 - 12:02 pm: Edit

We tried to let folks know to re-register after the BBS glitched in late December and deleted all the users. Sorry y'all didn't get the message. :(Maybe this will alert some of the others. Just re-register using your old info and it will link you back up.

By Kenneth Lin (Old_School) on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 - 04:08 pm: Edit

Oh so that's what was causing my login issues, hah. Good to know I wasn't banned from the BBS for bad behavior or something...

No matter how long the air-warning signs blare, someone is going to have the ear-buds on listening to Van Halen.

Steve and Al Prank Jean Accidentally

Steve, Al, and Michael moved some big things out of the apartment and into the house so I could have more Jean stuff and reduce the "choke points" in the entrance to the apartment. My DVDs/Blu-rays are now at the house. So are a bunch of pots and some small appliances.

When they came back to the office, Steve and Al had joked about accidentally tossing out one of my dining room chairs, but they'd rescued it out of the dumpster. I figured they were joking and didn't stress.

That night, when I walked into the apartment and turned to hang my purse on the chair, there was only one chair!!! I blurted out, "Where's my chair! You didn't actually throw it in the dumpster, did you?"

Al started whooping. While he was waiting for a person to come by and pick up some paperwork, he'd moved it to my living room so he could sit on it while Steve sat in my recliner. My chair was just fine.

So that is how Al and Steve pranked me by accident.

Whatever happened to the Facebook page button at the main website it disappeared

By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Monday, February 03, 2020 - 04:49 pm: Edit

I suspect it went MIA when Samantha worked on it. She should be in on Friday to fix it.

Folks, it has been thrown in my face that I post about personal stuff. I admit, that comment hurt.

I share with you because I think of you not just as customers, but as friends. You've been there with comforting words when I experienced loss or sickness. You have celebrated with me when I healed or when the most joyful things happened. I am so happy to know you as you have enriched my life so much with that friendship.

My intent is to still share with you. I don't do it as much because work is busier and I am trying to make a life with my husband to be. The latter takes time and effort if we want our marriage to work and we do.

So at this point, thank you for being my friends.

Jean

I, for one, do not think you over do "personal stuff". Generally what is posted here is more of a "stuff is delayed due to real life issues outside of work, this is what happened, and how it will likely affect my work here".

By Richard Eitzen (Rbeitzen) on Sunday, February 16, 2020 - 10:05 pm: Edit

I've had no problem with it. If it was that Aaron guy who commented, I wouldn't give his words any weight. He just seems here to make trouble and insult people.

Internet trolls, what can ya do?

By Will McCammon (Djdood) on Sunday, February 16, 2020 - 10:46 pm: Edit

Jean -

You've been a friend, long before you were a collaborator and co-worker.

How much you choose to share online is your choice.

By Steven Wagner (Waggs) on Monday, February 17, 2020 - 07:10 am: Edit

Completely agree with what OUR friends above wrote Jean. ADB isn't an "impersonal Producer-client" company. It is more a "Fans of Star Trek making stuff for their friends who love Star Trek" company and always will be. So don't ever stop being who you are.
