I gave Petrick the Christmas ship for Communique and asked him to check it; he found two minor items. I did the last ship for BOOSTER #38 and gave it to Petrick to check; he found 7 errors.

SVC work: FEDCOM BOOSTERS: Made the fixes to the Vudar CWL. Set up the file for Booster 38. Put all 16 card/sides into it. Went back and copied the LDR ones to Booster 40. Fixed the borders (made them white so they don't show). Went back to the layout file and reset all 16 pages to auto-update. Triggered a manual update. Exported the file. Emailed it to Jean. We haven't even released the FC Christmas 2019 ship and Steve Zamboni already has a miniature for it and the 2018 ship. I had fixed the ships for Booster 37 earlier but I opened the file which triggered auto update and re-exported it to create a final printer file.
SHAPEWAYS: Discussed directions with Will, which may have accidentally created a new Fed ship. I did ship descriptions for Jean’s shapeways releases.
I Worked on graphics for R4J and did them all.
Someone reported a glitch on Shapeways meant it was showing no models at all available for any store. Jean got that fixed.
Leanna reported that our Kyocera dealer had fixed the printer problem last Monday, and that there was no word from the test shipment to the UK via Parcel Monkey.
I contacted the die cutter to check on status.
Steve Petrick got his first vaccine shot for COVID.

MONDAY MARCH 22nd 2021
Discussions (Jean) about updates to the website.
Discussions (Petrick, West) about R4J history. The PDF thing screwed up and Mike could not read all ten pages so I sent him the missing parts, which was fun since the PDF maker kept stopping in mid-word on random pages, but I think he finally got the whole document.
Somebody on the forum wanted us to do "paper cards to replace minis" which could allow people to try ACTA without buying minis (or assembling and painting them, something a fair number of players do NOT find fun). I whipped up a sheet of Klingon "cards" and sent them to Tony and Jean for comment.
I updated the schedule of upcoming releases.
I had a conversation with the die cutter but am still waiting for a definitive answer to the question of when the counters will come back.
More work on the fiction story.
I worked on the TacOps rulebook, formatting the X-mauler rule and deleting rules I pulled from Captain’s Log which had already been published, mostly in Planetary Operations.
I updated the SJ17 scenario graphic for R4J.

TUESDAY MARCH 23rd 2021
WEEKLY STRATEGIC PLANS MEETING: We made plans to complete GURPS ROMS 2021 and SFB MODULE R4J for upload in the very near term and to get more ships sent to Shapeways. Jean presented Steve Petrick with an edited copy of the R4J history section that I did, marking over 200 mistakes I made or at least mistakes I didn’t fix when I rewrote and expanded Steve Petrick’s rewrite and expansion of Mike West’s original draft.
I did the spell check on another chapter of Klingons. Jean told me to print the rest of it as-is without trying to spell check it since the Pagemaker spell check system is horribly inefficient.
Finished the Federation chapter of ACTASF Reinforcements One.

Finished the Introduction/weapons chapter of ACTASF Reinforcements One.
Sent Zac Belado a checklist of FC Ship cards.
I assigned hull numbers to the four DNWs so Will could do decals before the ship hits shapeways. 2141 Missouri (DNW), 2142 Tennessee (DNW), 2143 Washington (DNW), 2144 South Dakota (DNW).
Sent the die pattern specifications to the die cutter. He has to build us a die and that will take some extra time.
I completed Jean’s deep dive revisions to GURPS ROMS 21, generated the PDF, put a copy on Leanna’s hard disk so she can start shipping copies tomorrow, and put the thumb drive in my pocket to give to Jean when I see her for lunch tomorrow.

Got a note from Cenveo about hard copy proofs being ready.
Got more SIT data from Chuck Strong.
For TacOps today, I pulled the ship list out of the SIT and started sorting it into categories (leaders, light PFTs) to identify ships needing special rules.
I made the changes and added the art to the ACTASF Tholian BB that will be in the 10 March newsletter.
Conducted a test of the PDF sales thing for the non-updated F&E Books. I made Jean’s fixes to the press release so it would be ready.
Cenveo came by with the proofs and I approved them. The printed sheets should be at the die cutters in a week.
Worked on updating the F&E Counterlist.
Simone came in and created the covers we needed for R4T and for the SFM Battle Manual.

I met with Jean to discuss the possibility of Stratcon and some PDF marketing things.
I posted a plan to revise one or two of the four non-updated F&E rulebooks DURING Stratcon. So far, not a single comment on it.
I made the latest round of changes to the TacOps SIT and posted it. We have 86 cells which still need work out of 5000, not bad for this early in the process.
I worked on Jean’s Deep Dive fixes to GURPS ROMS 21 and was shocked by what I found.

FRIDAY MARCH 12th 2021
I updated the TacOps SIT with the information Chuck sent, wiping out all of the unknown cells except the ones needing rule numbers and one ship which Chuck quickly sent on request.
I assigned the needed special ship rule numbers to TacOps (549.0) and started roughing in some of the rules.
Leanna ran an experiment with Parcel Monkey which (if it works) would allow us to start shipping to the UK and Canada again.
I worked on Jean’s fixes to GURPS ROMULANS 21, reaching page 124. Jean and I conferred over the status of certain pages. I have yet to receive Chapter 2 due to a paperwork shuffle issue.
Leanna could not get the PC which controls the PC book-printing computers to print and took it to the repair guys, who said they would fix it.

SATURDAY MARCH 13th 2021
It was very foggy on the drive in, visibility limited to 100 yards. Kinda spooky.
Leanna got her repaired computer and it still would not work. She eventually discovered that the last Windows-10 update meant no PC would work with any Kyocera printer. This has Kyocera pretty upset and blocks us from printing books. She is consulting with the tech support guys at the local repair shop, Kyocera, and Microsoft for a solution. We can print books from one of the Macs but it is a very slow process compared to using the PCs to control the Kyoceras’ built-in hard drives where the books are stored electronically.
Internet was working on the east side of the building but not the west side. We eventually tracked this to a piece of equipment on the west side that had burned out overnight. We replaced it.
I finished making all of the changes Jean had given me for GURPS ROMS 21. I was shocked at how sloppy the original book was, how many mis-spelled words and typos and other issues. She still has to give me two chapters and I expect this will take several passes.
I made the two F&E TacOps SIT fixes and asked Chuck for the data on the tactical group capabilities.

I discussed the alternate time line chapter of R4J with Steve Petrick and offered to do the needed editing to present their work in the right context. That took the rest of the day but the work done by Steve and Mike West is outstanding and I was happy to contribute some minor reformatting.

At home, I read the revised Early Warp Romulan history and marked 185 things I needed to fix, mostly random verb tenses I need to standardize.
At the office, I made the fixes and ran the spell check, which took three hours.

We had a fluffy snow storm in Amarillo. Roads were slick (we saw seven cars in the ditch on my drive to work) and visibility was 100 yards.
Worked on GURPS ROMS 21.
I proofread 10 pages of R4J.
Had to spend most of the afternoon at a doctor’s appointment.

We had the staff meeting on the phone because Jean didn’t want to catch our colds. We were mostly over them but still having some coughing problems.

WEDNESDAY APRIL 7th 2021
Leanna, Steve Petrick, and I accidentally had lunch with Jean and Al (we all went to the same place without pre-arrangement); we discussed restarting the Rangers this summer, indexing Shapeways, and getting new Shapeways ships done to match ACTASFR1.
I finished the FRAX chapter of ACTASFR1 and sent it to Tony. Tony sent me the Juggys and WYNs but I had to work on newsletter stuff.
Got word that the counters are finished and will ship tomorrow and be here in 7 days. Notified the F&E Staff to get cracking on TacOps.
Sent a requested ship card to FCOL and asked them to confirm I did it right since I had not done one in a year. They confirmed it and I sent them the other half of that ship.
Conferred with Petrick about the WB10 ship card I had to create to match Will’s new mine. Then I created it and gave it to him to check. Then I fixed his issues and sent it to Mike West to check and to Tony el’Tomas to turn into an ACTA ship.
Conferred with Jean about what news to include in the April 10 newsletter and what news to hold for the May 10 newsletter.
Petrick and I solved a minefield conundrum for a player by realizing he had read the rule backwards and thought he could set for a target number rather than ignore a number of targets.

Leanna and I became ill at work and went home, but we did get a few things done first. Leanna reports lots of orders are coming in, 10-20 per day, but she is keeping up.
I did a bunch of reports and corrections on ACTASFR1.
