Today was a big day for Steve Petrick. He relocated from "assisted living" to "independent living" which costs 1/3 as much and gives him more freedom. I did a bunch of it (packing his stuff and buying supplies he needed) but without the help of the staff of both facilities (which are a block apart) and Sergeant Beddow (who trained Steve in how to medicate himself and work with the IT guys to get Fox News and YouTube working) it would not have been possible.

Based upon how you had described SP's condition previously, this sounds like a miracle! Wonderful news. Fingers crossed.

A minor setback today. Jean went to pick up Steve who had been sitting on a bench for half an hour waiting for her (instead of waiting in his recliner in his apartment as she told him). When she arrived, he could not get up to get in the car, and acted strangely. Jean told the people inside the retirement hotel and they send Steve to the hospital in an ambulance. I met him there with my power of attorney documents. After a few hours the doctors said he was just tired, dehydrated, not sleeping well, skipped breakfast, and had a previously documented slow heart rate. They are keeping him overnight but he should be fine.

I spent most of the last month recovering from being completely unable to walk or have strength to do anything.

It is very frustrating, but hopefully with physical therapy and getting food he will be able to build his strength back up.

SPP, I sent you an email regarding Module R1 fixes. Was it received?

Shawn Hankte:

How long ago did you send it?

Mr. Petrick - It looks like we have 16 players for the next Sapphire. FYI - so we can get a tree. Thank you.

Jack Taylor:

My E-mail only shows 15 sign ups, confirmed. Understandably with my, sigh, "health issues" in the last eight months I might be making a mistake somewhere, and perhaps I accidentally deleted someone's signup because the e-mail system is a new one that has been (truthfully) giving me fits to figure out how it works. But in reviewing it I onlly count 15 sign-ups.

Respectfully:

Steven P.

I have cast my ballot in the mid-term elections. It is not pertinent to this, or indeed any topic of this website to state for whom or what I voted for, or against, but merely to note that duty as a citizen has been fullfilled on this score. Further, I can ask each of my fellow citizens to exercise their own franchises. I will note that for ten years of my adult life I willingly carried a rifle protecting your right to vote.

What Musk is spending $44 Billion for.....
Too bad all the self declared "Elites" who are running from Twitter, don't understand the point....
Especially those pulling ads....

I have to suggest that anyone voting should actually study the issues first and over a period of weeks if not months. I know, that sounds like work, but it's part of the responsibility. Do YOU want to live under a government selected by people who studied the issues for 15 seconds from a single social media comment by someone with no stature to pronounce what is truth?

By all means, you must get information from multiple sources, and then decide what YOU think. I watch both Fox and CNN and my newsfeed includes sources from all over the political spectrum and from around the world. (What the French think of Ukraine might surprise you. It might also surprise you that there are Polish media sources in English which have views you have never heard.)

As an example of this, the despicable attack on Paul Pelosi (unacceptable in any context) is reported "factually" as being a right-wing kook (this proving the narrative that only the right wing is violent) and as a left-wing kook (this proving the narrative that only the left is violent) depending on which sources you read/watch. Having read a half dozen sources my own judgement is that this illegal alien drug addict nudist activist was an equal opportunity conspiracy nut whose brain rotted to the point that he didn't understand much about anything. Just exactly what "truth" he thought Nancy Pelosi was going to reveal is unclear, and I for one doubt even he knows.

Please, let's not.

Considering that the moment Musk took over, the N-word was posted more times than the previous several years combined, it is just as likely for Twitter to become a hellscape of racism and abuse, as it is to become some free speech fantasy.

So, rather than argue over this, can we just not?
