Take it easy, and get better!

I should have asked for thoughts and prayers sooner. I feel (a little) better already.

My father has long recommended Chicken Soup to feel warmer and healthier, and M&Ms as needed for depression.
Hope it all passes soon.

Worse today. Seven days of this stuff. ugh.
Dizzy is the worst part. I can't even drive to a drive-up window to get a hot lunch. Just walking to the bathroom is taking my life in my hands.
Albert called and asked how I was feeling and I said "at death's door begging to be let in."
Congestion, post nasal drip, choking on mucus, major hacking cough attack every few minutes. Cannot go to sleep until exhaustion puts me to sleep, at which point my throat fills up with mucus and I wake up choking.
Seven pajama days in a row sounds fun other than that.

SVC, I had some guys come down with something like you have. The solution turned out to get an inhaler of alupent so you can hack up ALL that stuff and get well.
The darn doctor at Bagram kept saying "they aren't wheezing." And I'd say, "they got severe chest ronchi and rumbling, so lets try something else before Troy drops dead..."
Better in about 6 hours. Cured in 2 days. However, he did cough up some really nasty chunks of stuff. Which was what he needed.

Covid?
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Thursday, December 28, 2023 - 11:28 pm: Edit |
Tested negative for covid. Had a flu shot.

Better today. The random choking/coughing fits are less frequent. The dizziness is mostly gone. No fever. I actually managed to get 8 hours of sleep this morning in three big chunks. I have been skating by on 2-3 hours a day because the choking wakes me up. I think getting back to work next week is highly probable.

As much as I want products, PLEASE take as much time as necessary, and even more if you want it; I want your continued health FAR more than product.

Everything you've described so far, Steve -- the symptoms, the severity, the knock-you-on-your-butt-and-then-rebound-again-and-again nature of it, sounds a lot like the particularly nasty strain of RSV that has been making the rounds.
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, December 29, 2023 - 11:11 pm: Edit |
My own theory is RSV.
Severe coughing fits are about an hour apart, unless I lay down in bed when they begin in 60 seconds.
No dizziness, no fever, I can mostly breathe clearly but there is still a bit of congestion.
Leanna and I were invited to a party tomorrow night but I don't think I'm going. We may slip in and have lunch. Maybe I'll go to the office and Leanna can bring me a reasonably warm takeout lunch since there are places a mile away. Takeout food gets cold on the way to my house which is 10 miles out of town.

Better. I am going to town for lunch and groceries. I should be at my desk Tuesday.

I have had only one severe coughing fit today. It was a bad one, but there was only one. A few minor coughs. Not dizzy, able to drive on the highway, I seem to be over it.

Seem to be recovered but still have some coughing every few hours. Plan to be at work Tuesday.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, January 02, 2024 - 02:10 pm: Edit |
I am back at my desk, but weak and shaky. I will try to finish the stuff for the newsletter today but other than that I'm setting my sights on tomorrow. (There is a rumor of snow on Friday and if I wake up to see blowing snow I'm not coming to work on that Friday.) I might or might not catch up on the Get Fuzzy comic strip I read and posting FYEO.

Happy New Year, Steve, and here's hoping for better health moving forward!

I am at my desk and working on various things. I don't feel like running a foot race but sitting here and typing doesn't seem to be an issue. Leanna is sick (presumably RSV) and I may need to take off some time to take care of her. We are expecting bad weather tomorrow and might shut down the company at some point during the day and reopen Friday or Monday. Due to my having RSV for two weeks we never did the December newsletter with the North Polar Ships, but we will release them with the January newsletter.

Looking forward to the new ships, but if we don't see them until Arbor Day, that's okay.
(Especially if they're based around a Christmas Tree )

WEDNESDAY 3 JAN 2024
I posted the FYEO stuff. I dealt with 10 of a list of 40 business items on my desk. I updated the three North Polar ships and sent the FC cards to Mike West. I called about Petrick's auction check. I rescheduled my skin cancer surgery for 30 Jan. I spent the rest of the day doing paperwork for Steve Petrick, catching up his accounts that I take care of. Jean and I discussed rescheduling Christmas Dinner which has already been delayed to 6 Jan and may have to wait longer as Leanna is sick.
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Thursday, January 04, 2024 - 12:53 am: Edit |
The new ships are the PBC, CCC, and OMR.
Pretty Big Cargo ship
Chip-In Contract Cruiser
One More Refit cruiser

The bad weather turned out to be just fog (so far) so we are here.
