Happy New Year to all.
Is it too early to prognosticate on the appearance of F&E Civil Wars or the next volume of the Master Ship Book series?

The surgical pain in my neck remains annoying, more than that, it's hard to concentrate. I spent most of my productive time yesterday working on a deal for a new product line. That, and running errands. I do not remember any previous time in my life when I ran this many @#$% errands. Some of that is Steve P (I had to get his prescriptions, groceries, and some medical supplies at different places and then take them all to his apartment) but I still have three different bank errands (at different banks) to do and there is some problem with a credit card I have to fix on the phone. The church is bugging me about getting my baptism done but I cannot get the surgical site under water until the doctor clears it next week and I have more skin cancer surgery the week after, which will mean several days out of the office due to the pain. I need to ask Mike West to send me some SFB SSDs for the February newsletter.

As a paperless customer who can't get latest Captain's Logs (urgh!), a reminder that we're approaching the 5 year delay for CL53. Do I HAVE to wait until June?

nag...nag...nag...nag...nag
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Thursday, January 25, 2024 - 10:18 pm: Edit |
Please do not nag. Jean would be the one I need to talk to the most. She is quite sick with flu and cannot be expected to discuss that situation with me before the week after next week.

Tomorrow morning, I will have another round of skin cancer surgery. The surgery is minor, and not dangerous, and basal cancers are more annoying than deadly, but being on my head, the stitches to close the wound (the skin being very tight) it's gonna hurt enough to keep me out of the office for at least two days and maybe more. I'll be back, but not right away. This is a nothingburger, so your prayers and good wishes might be better directed to someone actually in danger, like the people of both sides in Gaza.

The surgery was successful but as expected painful. I am on pain killers and cannot drive or focus, but they got all of the cancer.

That's good to hear!
Best of luck on your recovery!

Yeah my dad went through that...glad they got it all. Speedy recovery Steve!

Not as bad today, painkillers working, cannot really think straight, it hurts when I smile or blink or close my eyes. The skin is stretched very tight.

The skin cancer scar is still very sore but at least it's not blinding pain. At my age, something hurts all the time, usually more than one.
Word to the wise. Wear a hat outdoors, not a cap, a hat, with a brim.
And wear sunscreen if you're going to be out all day.

Somebody asked me to send him the FRAX insignia, and I realized we really needed to update the insignia/emblem file.

So far, Jean hasn't noticed the Fralli now have their own unique insignia.
Credit to DAVID BOSTWICK for inspiring me to do the update.
By Mike Curtis (Nashvillen) on Friday, March 08, 2024 - 01:38 pm: Edit |
The Fralli one is both shocking and very ugly. We should endeavor to kill them all.
By Jeff Wile (Jswile) on Friday, March 08, 2024 - 03:38 pm: Edit |
I disagree.
The Fralli insignia needs to be large, double sided. One for the front and the back, some thing like a snipersscope view of a very large red bulls eye.
Just to make it easier to hit.
afterall, all non Fralli need every advantage possible.
By Russ Simkins (Madcowak) on Friday, March 08, 2024 - 05:21 pm: Edit |
The Fralli insignia should be and always remain a mystery. No one knows what the insignia really is since it always has a paper bag over it.

"All Hallows?"
"Easter?"
Do we have new races to join, or have I missed staff meetings?

I had random sneezing (something unusual) all day Sunday, then that night my throat started burning. I've been sick since then, did not make it to work Monday or Tuesday and today doesn't seem likely. Fever, nausea, stuffy nose, sneezing, coughing, dizziness. I could not focus enough to even read a book or coherently form a thought. I hope to make it it work tomorrow or Friday.
