THURSDAY 21 NOVEMBER 2024 -- DAY 115
Went to town to have family lunch, went to office and had a nice chat with the company that can provide short-run counters, took SPP home, went home, exercise, rest.

FRIDAY 22 NOVEMBER 2024 -- DAY 116
As pre-arranged, I stayed home to clean up the house for the holidays. I got some rest and exercise. Leanna and I went to town for a nice lunch. Sort of pretending I'm retired, I really liked that.

SATURDAY 23 NOVEMBER 2024 -- DAY 117
Leanna and I went to town for a nice lunch and some errands including the weekly grocery run. Then we got home, unloaded and put stuff away, did my exercises, did more cleaning up the house, and rested. The whole "pick up the house" plan starts with my closet, which is more or less the only empty spot. I got the last of the junk there pulled out and thrown away and later we can start moving stuff out of "the game room" (bedroom #3) so we can convert it into the "pharmacy room" and allow us to keep the dining room table clear.

SUNDAY 24 NOVEMBER 2024 -- DAY 118
I got up at 4:30am to go get Leanna's favorite donuts and picked up a hot breakfast burrito for myself. Later, Leanna cooked burgers for lunch. We had frozen/microwave food for dinner. We did a lot of cleaning up around the house, continuing the plan we started last July and were rudely interrupted by my dizzy spell. I even managed to get outside and repair a hole in the picket fence where a skunk or raccoon chewed his way through a cedar picket, allowing the Bengals to get out of the yard and terrorize the neighborhood. Now the Bengals can have their exercise and stay trapped inside a fence they cannot climb (since the top two feet of it (on top of seven feet vertical) leans into the yard at a 45 degree angle).

MONDAY 25 NOVEMBER 2024 -- DAY 119 - 17 WEEKS SINCE THE BROKEN HIP
I got up, took Leanna to lunch, picked up prescriptions for my new stronger BP meds, took Leanna to a doctor appointment, went to the office.
Jean and I discussed: ordering counters from "short source two", Petrick's schedule, getting Orion MSSB finished (she is working on it), and getting someone we just met to work on a project for us.
Then I left the office, picked up Leanna, took her home, took a nap, and after supper did some house cleaning.
I made it a point to do a lot more walking an exercising than I ever had, and it left me totally exhausted and so sore that I couldn't get much sleep.

TUESDAY 26 NOVEMBER 2024 -- DAY 120
I didn't get much sleep and was still exhausted when my physical therapist arrived. She ran me through an exhausting workout at the end of which I all but passed out from exhaustion. She had to maneuver a chair under me and lower me into it. I had to rest over an hour before I could drive to town to meet Petrick for lunch.
At the office, I finished the four F&E sheets we need to print, and started on Y1. I forgot that I had to do all of those fourth generation icons from scratch and in three hours I managed about 40 of them out of 280. Eventually I went home and collapsed.

WEDNESDAY 27 NOVEMBER 2024 -- DAY 121

MONDAY 2 DECEMBER -- DAY 126
The home health nurse visited and declared that I was doing well. The physical therapist put me through a grueling workout but said I did fine.
I took Leanna to lunch, then to a doctor appointment, then home so we could both rest. I installed Leanna's new larger shoe rack. Honestly, girls and shoes. I own a pair of walking shoes, a pair of combat boots, a pair of Church shoes, and a pair of bedroom slippers. I don't need a shoe rack.

TUESDAY 3 DECEMBER 2024 -- DAY 127
I slept late, took Leanna to lunch, went to the office for the staff meeting. Leanna left for errands and appointments. I worked on the Y1 countersheet, doing the icons for the Feds, Orions, Hydrans, Kzintis, and Carnivons. I went home, took Leanna to dinner, and rested. I felt very tired.

WEDNESDAY 4 DECEMBER 2024 -- DAY 128
I went to the office and finished the Y1 countersheet.
Jean and I and Albert had a long rambling talk about which way to proceed with countersheet production. I will get some detailed quotes from printers and cutters tomorrow. I went home too exhausted to fix my own supper but Leanna was there to feed me.

THURSDAY 5 DEC 2024 -- DAY 129
We had family lunch. I got to the office and made the fixes to the Y1 sheet, and started on the R6 sheet which needs icons but the text is done.
I checked on the COUNTER-STRIKE things for SFM and posted the result. I check the PLANETARY OPS sheet and it's good to go. I checked what it would take to do the Tournament alternate color sheet and it seems doable but maybe not right away since I would have to do T before I could do T-ALT.

FRIDAY 6 DECEMBER 2024 -- DAY 130
I came in to the office on a day I had planned to take off (special family event) because XO Beddow said "You know, you cannot gripe that the F&E guys haven't done the scenarios because you never sent them the files they asked for." [For reasons I don't need to explain, that is stupidly tedious to do and I keep saying "later".] So I sent them the files I had for Lyran and Romulan civil wars and Some SITs. I also sent pictures of the the K and Y1 sheets to trusted people who can check them for mistakes and spent an hour starting to install the icons for R6. Jean and I discussed countersheet production and I requested printer quotes on the various sheets for the run.

SATURDAY 7 DECEMBER -- DAY 131
Leanna and I spent the day at home working on the master plan to clean up and clear out the house. We had started this last July but were interrupted by the accident that broke my leg (near the hip). The project to clean out my big closet was a success, but took a lot of energy and left me exhausted and sore.

SUNDAY 8 DECEMBER -- DAY 132
I was still exhausted, and Leanna was tired. We decided to do something easier today, so I cleaned out some junk drawers while she reorganized half of the kitchen cabinets.

MONDAY 9 DECEMBER -- DAY 133
I cannot believe it's been nineteen weeks!
I had physical therapy evaluation. I scored the maximum on every test, and even walked 100 feet without a cane or holding onto things. Then he had me do the whole exercise routine I do every day, then do it again. I didn't know but he was testing my limit. I suddenly got very tired and then incredibly dizzy. I knew I was going to fall and break something else but the therapist was right there and he pushed me onto the kitchen cabinet and helped me get a solid grip, then got the wheelchair (which fortunately had not been put back into storage over the weekend) and rolled it under me. This was the first dizzy spell since leaving the hospital in August, and was caused by extreme exercise. I had to sit down for three hours before I could drive to work.
When I got to the office with a bag of takeout food, everyone wanted to talk with me about everything, but I begged them to let me eat in peace. After I got some food I felt better, and was able to function. We had a staff meeting, reviewed the new counters which had arrived, and reviewed what new counters would need to be reprinted in 2025 (all of which were already in the next batch). I spent two hours sorting through counters printed in 1991 and 1997 to do quality control, throwing half of them out as defective. Then I went to work on the R6 countersheet, getting more shuttles done. I had to create a top-down graphic of a ground bombardment shuttle. Finally I went home and Leanna fixed me supper.

TUESDAY 10 DEC — DAY 134
Exhausted from the Monday physical therapy, I went to bed at 10pm and woke up at 6am to have breakfast. I normally sleep five hours, not eight. But then I fell asleep at 7am and slept until 1pm, a total of 14 hours. After lunch I went to the office to work on the R6 counters. I worked an hour later than usual and went home to rest.

WEDNESDAY 11 DEC — DAY 135
The false alarm. Just after midnight I felt great pain in my chest. Leanna came and sat with me as I was terrified, but it made no sense. The pain was not cardiac (I have never had that) but in the chest wall. It went away with a pain pill. That evening I was walking and felt my cane slip, this caused exactly the same pain and it was clear that the freak slippage had torn a muscle in my chest.
We had family dinner. Then I went to the office and worked on the R6 counters.
