THURSDAY 26 FEB 2026
I worked on the ORION MSSB all day.
I am determined to get three products out next week.

FRIDAY 27 FEB 2026
I took the day off for errands and business meetings.
SATURDAY 28 FEB 2026
I had planned to go to an airsoft battle but had to stand down because I needed to rest.
SUNDAY 1 MARCH 2026
Unable to sleep, I tuned on the TV to be surprised by the war. That kept me busy most of the day.
MONDAY 2 MARCH
The office was closed due to the war. Petrick, Albert, and I were mobilized for reserve military intelligence duty. Albert was reading Iranian emails while Petrick and I analyzed them and sent reports to Pete H, our 3rd cousin.

SVC did you receive my email about Module X1? The SSDs are finished and reviewed, but there are some questions a need resolved before I send them in. Y1 is done and checked as well. R9 in a few days.

Re sent.

TUESDAY 3 MARCH
Albert remained on Air Force reserve signals intel duty.
Petrick and I zeroed in on the building where the Iranian Council of Experts was holding an election, sent the report, and went to the office. Israel voted for "none of the above".
Petrick worked on K update and ISC MSSB and on reports for Nick's SSD book updates.
I did a mock up cover for CIVIL WARS so it can go to press.
I worked doing Petrick's latest round of 435 fixes to the Orion MSSB, getting to page 41.

WEDNESDAY 4 MARCH
Albert remained on Air Force reserve signals intel duty.
Petrick and I enjoyed the tape of the captain yelling (in Farsi) "What submarine? What torpedo?"
Petrick worked on K update and ISC MSSB and on reports for Nick's SSD book updates.
I finished all 435 fixes Petrick wanted made to Orion MSSB and sent him home with a copy and instructions to bring a final report on Monday.

THURSDAY 5 MARCH
Albert continued reserve duty.
I was called in to do BDA.
Petrick worked on the Orion MSSB.
FRIDAY 6 MARCH, SATURDAY 7 MARCH
Albert, Petrick, and I were all on reserve intel duty.

SATURDAY 7 MARCH, SUNDAY 8 MARCH
Nominally days off, reserve duty beckoned.
MONDAY 9 MARCH
Petrick worked on K. He had found time to read the ORION book again to check my fixes, marking over 450 additional changes never marked before. The crazy way these MSSBs work, if you find one mistake. You probably found it repeated dozens of times.
I worked on Orion MSSB, getting to page 83. Petrick took thies pages home to review.
Albert emailed in the field at a lonely radio listening post, watching technicians install new equipment.
TUESDAY 10 MARCH
Arriving in early morning hours, I finished revising the Orion book, Petrick (who also arrived early, enticed by a takeout dinner better than anything the old soldiers home served) checked it finding 150 more fixes to be made, I made them, he checked them finding 56 more, I did them and sent him home with a final print out. Jean noted that I was clearly unwell and that anyone else would have stayed home. In midafternoon I left work for a routine teeth cleaning. The dentist who accidentally broke one of my teeth said that the damage was so severe that he could not repair it and sent me to a specialist next week.
Albert remained on field duty, noting that the young technicians assigns to work for him had no concept of combat conditions. They actually asked where the nearest night club was and were shocked to hear it was “two countries that way.”

WEDNESDAY 11 MARCH
Petrick worked with me (SVC) on Orion MSSB. He eventually gave me 19 pages with fixes, all of which were things he marked before that I did wrong while I was feeling sick. I worked on the fixes, feeling somewhat better than yesterday. At the end of the day, one still had to be fixed. This did involve replacing or updating five pieces of art.
Albert used a CIA satellite to check with the F&E staff and get the required maps so we can finish CIVIL WARS.

THURSDAY 12 MARCH
We were at this all day, but constantly ran into things that took longer than we could have expected. We have four books we need to finalize and get uploaded.
CAPTAIN'S LOG #54: This one sounds simple, I mean, it's already in PDF form and we just have to upload it. Well, sort of. We had to arrange ahead of time for the color SSD pack. Jean had to upload it twice (for the two font sizes) and the process takes longer than there is any reason for it to take. We're still having trouble with one of the stores; their accounting system collapsed a year ago and we're still getting paid for things they sold last summer. Newly uploaded products don't get into the spreadsheet for months. We want to get this out today but there were a LOT of orders this morning and Jean wants to protect her reputation for fast turnaround.
STARMADA: RUMORS OF WARS
This has been ready for months but was waiting to be uploaded with other products. In hindsight, we should not have waited. It was totally ready but given that it takes Jean hours to do one product I don't think it's going to happen today.
SFB ORION MASTER STARSHIP BOOK
This product refused to die. I finally got to the end of Petrick's list of fixes, but then we noticed that page 1 (table of contents) had never been done (that took an hour) and page 2 had never been fixed from the proofreading (another hour) but then Jean would have to check the ToC against the actual pages and check the changes on page 2. Then it would take hours to upload, and there are only so many hours. Jean also noted that I had never written the publicity blurb for it, which only took a few minutes but then had to be checked by everyone in the building, who were all busy with other products, orders, book printing, and Hegseth calling every hour to ask "what do we do now?"
F&E CIVIL WARS
This is a complicated product. The rulebook is done, and has been for weeks. The maps didn't get fully updated until yesterday and then we had to stop and check to see if we really had the latest staff revision. The charts were good but then someone asked "where is the WYN map that SVC did?" and it was not in the pack(despite my emailing it to people weeks ago). Fortunately it was still on my hard disk so we just had to PDF it (again) and insert it into the chart/map pack. Everything took an hour and there were only so many hours.
We'll probably get all of these up by sometime next week. But not today.

MONDAY 16 MARCH
Jean got CL54 uploaded last week, and today she got STARMADA RUMORS OF WAR done. Petrick and I worked on Orion MSSB.
TUESDAY 17 MARCH
Jean uploaded Orion MSSB. I finished everything for Orion MSSB and F&E Civil Wars. Petrick worked on the K revision which is almost done. I did some art for it.

I purchased and downloaded CL54 about an hour ago
Hitting refresh waiting for the Orion MSSB. And there it is!

Congrats on the Orion MSSB, it looks beautiful. The layout seems perfect, and I like the new formatting of the rule headings (smaller and heavier). The narrative sections on the pirate life were a great addition.

WEDNESDAY 18 MARCH
Jean was working to get CIVIL WARS on Drive Through. (All we can do with Warehouse 23 is send them the file which they upload sometime.)
Petrick and I worked on new art (ISC PFs) for the Module K revision. I also hunted down some other art done months ago which he needed.
Albert continued to herd Gen Z troops on field duty overseas. He said they got the new antennae put up.

Today is the feast of Saint Joseph, the step-father of Jesus. He is Patron of the Church, of Poland and Canada, and of fathers, carpenters, and fireworks.

THURSDAY 19 MARCH
I got there early and did all the remaining ship art for K revision. Petrick worked on K review. Albert was still in the field but Jean flew to meet him; they should both be back in the US Monday. Mike did a bunch of orders.
Petrick and I got called to go to the SCIF and do target analysis so we drove to the airbase down south, had dinner at the officer's club, and checked into the BoQ. Petrick got sick from a lobster that wasn't properly refrigerated. My king crab was fine. We should be released from reserve duty in time to make the Monday staff meeting at ADB.
| By Nick Samaras (Koogie) on Friday, March 20, 2026 - 01:16 am: Edit |
SVC, I sent you an email with the "final" Module K SSDs with all corrections and updates along with the Module Y1 SSDs for initial review.
| By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, March 20, 2026 - 08:24 am: Edit |
I will let you know if I got them. Did you also send them to Albert? Please do.
