Code red takes four sheets, and this would have at most two, and I doubt we'd sell 100.
Photon torpedo scratch offs: Now, there's an idea to ask somebody about.
I don't remember hidden movement cards. did you mean the command cards?

Re: the "Booster 100" "special cards" thing -
I agree, the worst thing to do would be to create the perception that FedCom is going down the CCG path and suddenly he who spends the most is going to win.
I was thinking of the "special store cards in color thing" as more of a tiny rules expansion with some color (one sided) cards. It would only work as a for-sale product if it included rules that mandated their use across the board (i.e. all players in a scenario get one, but with variations on if they know what each other got until revealed, etc.).
Just a cheap-ish way to use IP that is already created, just schnazzed up in color.

Steve,
Yes, sorry, I meant Command cards.

This might be a silly suggestion, but what about a "Playtest Sargosso Sector F+E" set?
Imagine 500 sets of: an 8x14 map. Then the rest of the space set up as overlays of a "province" that you drop down on the map. 2 8x14 maps side by side give you the F+E gameboard.
Everything would have to be cut out by the owner (disadvantage). But endless replayability.
Special rules obviously and scenarios would have to be created also, so some production time to get that created. Say a 48-page rulebook.
Say sell it for $10-15 each for maps and rulebook.

All good ideas.
We got the press quote, and printer B won.
Which means that the "leftover" on their press sheet is 4.5x11 inches.
What ideas do you have for this size card/sheet?
(Leanna said that Megahex won't sell enough to do on this run, but she'll consider it for the squadron box covers where the print run is 200.)

A FC ship that is only needed in one scale.
Freighters are the only thing that springs to mind you might squeeze a two onto a 4.5x11.
Two of these give a convoy. you might sell 500 convoys. Wish I could think of a bettergeneric ship.

It wouldn't be laminted so that won't work.

It would work better than the B&W in CapLog & Briefings since it would at least be in color and on cardstock.

Did anyone mention color cardstock turn guages?

How about colored Crawford boxes for all published ships in the Star Fleet Universe?
Then all that would be needed is to have Petrick glue little velcro strips on to every one of the little tiny Crawford boxes so the players could conveniently slap the nifty colored Crawford boxes on to their existing SSD boxes!
Lets call it a Win-win-win-lose for the various parties involved (Leanna wins in that the 4.5x11 inch sheets don't go to waste, SVC wins with Leanna happy and shows that he is a conscentious and caring game publisher, the players of SFBs win in that they can receive nifty colored and velcro adhered crawford boxes.
Not sure what SPP would say to this proposal, but I'm guessing it won't be good...
Hey Bonzo! (referring to the head Ape on Agonizer Booth duty) break out the chess set! I got a new opening to teach you!

"CAFE PRESS: This is just a general note. We have a store there. It sells one or two or three items a month. Very disappointing, particularly given how many people swore they would buy stuff there who never did. "
shame that. Who welched out? ;)
I bought the shirts I requested the art get added for and I've nearly worn them out. Nearly time for replacements.

Perhaps the problem wasn't that they welched, but they just didn't know about it?
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Sunday, February 21, 2010 - 05:50 pm: Edit |
Well, if they said in this topic that they would buy it and we said in this topic that it was available....
Perhaps, Brodie, your idle speculation needs a more productive outlet?
